Heritage Inn San Diego

My experience at the Heritage Inn was incredibly disappointing. I was traveling passing through with my husband and child, and needed a place to rest just for the night. Upon arrival, the hotel clerk informed me that my reservation had only one queen bed, despite my reservation confirmation clearly stating two beds or one king. With no other rooms available nor a refund, we had no choice but to accept it. However, the room was not only inadequate for our needs but also unsanitary—with cockroaches and urine stench on the carpet present. My husband would have had to sleep on the floor, which was completely unacceptable under these conditions. Due to the lack of proper sleeping arrangements and the unsanitary environment, we checked out the same night at 9:30 PM and stayed elsewhere. When I addressed these issues with the clerk, I was told the booking was non-refundable and that the mistake was not theirs. The manager Miguel Pulido never responded to my email and voicemail attempts to resolve the matter, forcing me to dispute the charge through my bank, ultimately the only way I was able to get my money back. We paid $109 for the night, and I know this is very cheap for SD, but between their reservation mix-up, the lack of accountability, and the unclean conditions, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Poor management and refusal to address legitimate concerns make it clear that guest satisfaction is not a priority here. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere. A response to this review, from the general manager Miguel, would not be genuine and only be for show, as he never bothered to respond to any of my attempts to resolve this matter.

From the outside, this property looks like a run-down, seedy motel which it probably once was. However, the rooms have been modernised with a great deal of attention to comfort, conveniance and security. The rooms are actually more comfortable than those in the Holiday Inn Express next door at twice the price. So, if you aren't worried about external appearances, choose for Heritage Inn.

Rooms were mostly ok, clean enough. We had consistent issues with the door to my sons room getting stuck and the key cards not working. However, the location is terrible. Homeless everywhere, both staying at the hotel and wandering the premises. We were harassed or accosted multiple times. It's fairly cheap, yes, but find somewhere else, especially if you're bringing family.

This place is run by a scam artist. They charged $129 total cost for night stay with taxes and everything included for that price. I look at my bank statement the next day they charged total $189. I booked online directly with them and when I called to ask about the extra fees I hey added they told me it isn't their website and can not help. Don't trust this hotel, it's workers or their website. Shame companies feel they need to rip people off. You have been warned.

Positive: What I like best about the heritage inn was its proximity to everything. The room was exceptionally clean and the upgrades were really nice Negative: Some of staff here are absolutely condescending ignorant smartmouth troglodytes, some of the other stuff are very professional speak eloquently and act like they have common sense and decency about them.

Positive: Staff were friendly and check out was easy and quick. Negative: The people checking in to and around this hotel were not appealing to the eye. It was in a bad location. In our room the carpet near the restroom was soaking wet, not sure why. We put towels down to soak it up.

It was a great pleasure staying in this hotel. It was just the way I like CLEAN!!|Not only the room but the outside and the pool and hot tub as well. The fact that I was able to sleep very comfortably and it was very quiet and peaceful, made my trip even better, and I can’t keep my experience just for myself, I am very sensitive to smells and this place was very pleasant to me because there was no bad smells specially the ugly old cigarette smoke smell. Definitely this place is in the top of my list for my future trips to San Diego. The staff were amazing very friendly and efficient. I had the pleasure to meet them I could see the nice and very organized team work that they have. They keep this place very well maintained and very clean; I want to thank everyone specially Don Abraham I regret not writing down the other ladies names, but they were all great. and the front desk staff also very nice and efficient on their part I felt very welcome. Thanks, Santiago, Damian and Rosa. Definitely I recommend this place for your trip. On my behalf I will see you again. 🥰

Never really complain about hotels because you get what you paid for but this hotel was roach infested. My family and I usually stay at budget friendly hotels just to have somewhere to sleep but when we got to the hotel to sleep there were roaches everywhere. On our beds, the bathroom, and the walls. The area isn’t so bad but the roaches made the stay horrible, we up and left at night because I have 2 littles and i was not going to let them sleep with roaches. We’ve never had a bad experience like this at a cheap hotel. Disgusting.
