NillFor being built in 1898 this hotel was great! I visited here for the first time and I can say it was everything I expected and more. The old mining town is alive and kicking. Come here for the ghosts or a cozy place to lay your head. I was surprised at how comfortable the beds were. Floors are a little creaky, which is expected for such an old building. The hotel has a rich history and so does the town. Lots to do If you want to explore the area! Or just do some good old fashioned eating and gambling. (Salt Grass steak house was delicious ) I found staff to be super helpful and even met one of the owners. They have a full bar with food available right in the hotel on the 1st floor, they had 41 flavors of italian soda. I tried the pina colada combo and it was delicious! I could go on and on... I had a great time. Highly recommended.

NillWe had such a lovely and memorable vacation weekend in Cripple Creek, and it was all thanks to the incredible hospitality of the owners and staff at the Hotel St. Nicholas. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The hotel is a beautiful blend of history and comfort—each room thoughtfully renovated to reflect the charm of its past while offering all the modern touches you need for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, which made it the perfect place for us to unwind, read, and truly relax. The owners were not only gracious hosts but genuinely kind people who went out of their way to make sure our stay was special. Their warmth and attention to detail created an experience we won’t forget. Thank you for giving us such a peaceful, restorative weekend. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

★★★★★Lovely unique hotel in great location in Cripple Creek. Yes, the floors creak and your bath may be across the hall in a few of the rooms. But the building was built in 1898 as a hospital, and one can't just tear it down and start again. If you want a cookie-cutter room, with new Scandavian-design furniture and a designer bath, do not stay here. But if you want a stay filled with charm, period furniture, unique rooms and personal service, you will love it. The room was clean, bed was super comfortable, and the bath more than adequate. And there are great public areas with loads of charm. More often than not you will be checked in, or your room cleaned, or be served at the bar, by one of the 3 owners - who really care about your experience. I loved staying here and will be back.

★★★★★I could not ask for a better weekend get away! From the moment Sura-Quay checked us in, to the moment we checked out she was right there if we needed anything. Whether it was suggestions of places to eat or things to do. I had my 2 kids with me and she made them feel welcome as well. She went beyond any expectations I had. This hotel is fantastic if you are looking for something with history and character. We wandered the hotel the first night just taking it all in. So much to look at and take in as there is so much history to this building! Yes, we believe in spirits and had some run in with them but nothing malice. If you are into that stuff, even if your not, this is definitely a place you should visit! We also splurged while we were there and all 4 of us did some sort of spa session. Kirstin was so fantastic! We all enjoyed the sessions we had. Including the kids! Talking to her about the history of the building as well was so much fun! I could talk to both these ladies all day! Then in the Tavern, we had Braely taking care of us. We are not drinkers but we went in there and she made us all root beer floats and even took care of me when I asked for more ice cream. I like lots of ice cream! lol... The kids decided Saturday night that they did not want to leave the hotel for dinner so we just ate what they had in the Tavern. And everything we had was awesome! Braely was just as nice and sweet as Sura-Quay and Kirstin! We definitely will be coming back and experiencing this place again! I want to thank you all for making our weekend so fun and we barely left the hotel!

NillMy husband and I came to Cripple Creek for a weekend getaway and were delighted to find this place. It has so much personality! We had awesome massages and then drinks at The Broiler Room. Everyone was very friendly and I was sad we hadn’t booked our room at this hotel but we definitely plan on it next time!

★★★★★We enjoy staying in unique, historic hotels that are nice, but not too expensive. This was a fantastic place to stay for a quick weekend getaway. Our very clean room was comfortable, decorated in an uncluttered Victorian style complementing the Victorian era former hospital. Our bed was comfortable, and everything in the bathroom was modern and worked well. The room was not large, but adequate for us. No refrigerator or microwave in the room, and that was fine. I really enjoyed the views from the windows, of the mountains and mining town. The breakfast room was pretty and the continental breakfast featured many wholesome options. One of the owners was managing the reception and the bar during the time we were there, and he was a very gracious and welcoming host. He provided a lot of useful information about the history of the hotel and its old fashioned radiators, and gave good recommendations about local restaurants and activities. We felt well taken care of at this hotel, and really enjoyed our visit to Cripple Creek.

★★★★★Beautiful historic hotel that overlooks Cripple Creek. The host was amazingly helpful in answering many questions. We stayed in the San Isabel Room (2nd floor with an walk-out enclosed balcony) which I would highly recommend. Continental breakfast had it all, boiled eggs, an assortment of meats / cheeses, two kinds of coffee, loads of teas, bagels / toast, a variety of yogurts, and some really healthy instant oatmeal varieties (lots of seeds, etc in the mix). Next time we go to Cripple Creek, we'll be staying at Hotel St Nicholas.

NillThis was an extremely cozy experience. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The declarations are wonderful and historic. The beds are comfortable. You are within walking distance of the entire town of cripple Creek. All in all, one of the better boutique hotels I have ever stayed in.
