Baymont by Wyndham Savannah South

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while we were in town for a nearby wedding. Checking in and out were a breeze and they were super friendly. We had a room on the 3rd floor and it was nice and quiet. The room was a great size, a tad dated but but the bed/bedding was clean and comfortable. Overall a great experience and good place to rest for the weekend. Only reason I did not rate fully is just because the room needed some updates.

I do not recommend that hotel. The bathroom is dirty, the place smells bad. I paid for 2 nights and only stayed 1. You can't sleep there because of the septic tank smell that comes up through the bathroom pipes. There's a lot of noise at night, including some low-class guests staying there. At 6 a.m. in the parking lot, they had horrible music playing at full volume. They're inconsiderate. I gave them $140 and they still wouldn't return the fee they charged me extra for the dog I didn't use. I definitely do not recommend it.

I received a call from the hotel stating that my card did not go through. The person that called did not identify themselves,they asked who I was and if I had a reservation then proceeded to say my card did not go through. Proper phone equettie was lacking. When I arrived I stated that I would like to check in, and again I encountered rudeness. My room had a sofa sleeper, nasty does not begin to describe it nor does it describe the air conditioner. When it turned on all could do smell mold. The lacked basic cleaning from the last ocuppent. There were what looked like blood stains on the curtains. The breakfast was also lacking.For the price I expected more.

Be aware that your card will get charged before you arrive which we were not aware of as we booked on expedia. Our room was canceled since the charge didn't clear. Thankfully I paid attention to my email and saw the cancel message sent so I contacted hotel customer service and luckily was able to book another available room. Upon arrival front desk staff was nice and check in quick. Room was clean for the most part but room had dank stuffy smell and toilet was very dirty. Tub had a crack in it. Other people spoke highly of the breakfast but that's if youre the basic continental breakfast lover. We were not impressed. Curtains were stained and dirty in eating area. I got stuck in the elevated with 3 more people so that was a scare. Staff made sure to handle the situation as soon as they could. I decided to take stairs for rest of stay. Stay wasn't terrible but this is a budget high class motel. Walls are extremely thin we heard running above us and talking through our wall.

My family stayed one night just laying over as we were on our road trip. I had to book through a call center when I called and the lady was signing me up for all kinds of things. Told me my total would be 137.00 Was told that for 2 adults and 2 kids all they had was a king and pull out bed. I went ahead and took it. Got there and the pull out bed was a single mattress so one child had to sleep on the floor. Also the mattress was awful- a huge brown stain on it and terribly uncomfortable. Had to go ask for sheets and blankets for it and was given crap about requesting a second set of blankets for the kid sleeping on the floor. The fridge didn't have a freezer component. The breakfast was terrible. All sugar, carbs and chemicals. Then I noticed my bill ended up at 160 and some change after the taxes. Totally not worth it. I will say, the King bed was comfy and clean. The area felt safe. Those were two redeeming things.

Pulled in here and grabbed a room for the night. What a mistake. This was the dirtiest place I have stayed at in 30 plus years. And I didn't show you the top spread on the bed....it was gross. Normally we would have immediately complained and left. But we were so tired we just laid down and slept. We left early.... wouldn't even shower here!

To be honest this is not a horrible place to stay but it can definitely improve. When first treated here, extra charge for dogs that we notified before hand and dirty room. After the next day, we asked for cleaner bedding and they acted like it was a problem. Life happens when it wants to and we need to adjust. This is just a rough summary of this place, overall it was decent and the people are nice.

Positive: Recently renovated. Clean and just far enough off I95 that noise wasn't an issue. At this price point I found it to be a good value and would stay here again. Cannot say that about more expensive Holiday Inn the next night Negative: No
