NillBe aware, this hotel is under construction. There is debris and dust everywhere. The rooms that are done look like they could be nice, but the work is not professional. Doors sticking from the paint, seams not sealed, hook on the door is crooked. If they have less that 20 people checked in, they don't serve breakfast. Service was courteous, but not helpful.

NillEverything was pretty much good or at least five stars, the room was clean and appropriately described on Choice Hotels app. The service and the location were five star. However there's that small little issue of the free hot breakfast. Basically the whole reason for choosing this restaurant over the others was at this place had breakfast in the morning. And then after I got here I found out that the breakfast area is under construction and they don't actually serve breakfast currently. And from the looks of it it looks like it will be several weeks before the breakfast area will be finished And I Don't understand why they didn't update the Choice Hotels description of this place. So therefore instead of getting 5★ this hotel got 3★

NillThis used to be a Baymont, but recently converted to a Sleep Inn. Not fancy but clean and safe. Fine for an overnight stay but if you don't have a car it is not pedestrian friendly. Employees were friendly.

★★★★Positive: The renovated rooms. Negative: There was no soap holder in the bathroom nor garbage can near the bathroom. Also, the elevator was dirty and also when we arrived there was an overwhelming smell of marijuana. Price was super high for what we received.

NillI’m actually having difficulty leaving this review because it appears to be owned/run by a large immigrant family, who also live in the building. However, prospective customers should be aware of what to expect. Booked this place months ago for UIUC graduation weekend. At $350/night/room I thought it would be a bit better than Motel 6 or Red Roof. Unfortunately, the rooms are in severe disrepair, have musty/pet odors, and stains all over the upholstered furniture. The beds seem clean and are not uncomfortable, but the TVs are analog, with about 5 channels and pixel issues. Breakfast was the worst I’ve experienced in any inn, very few choices, some packaged items were opened. The egg choice was boiled. Not one piece of fruit could be seen. The only hot course were biscuits and gravy and some rancid sausage patties. Miserable! Lousy coffee too. This was at 7:30, not the end of breakfast. For the prices they charge for such an important event, Express Inn should at least make an effort to make for a pleasant stay.
