★★★★★I love this place!! So much so that my husband and I return yearly to celebrate the amazing place we got married at. The art is always incredible and unique, so make sure to take the time to visit the gallery. If you're lucky enough to get a room facing the inner courtyard you will be pleasantly surprised with the animations that begin playing when the sun goes down. And if you have a city view you will be amazed just as well. The staff is wonderfully helpful. The hotel is located at the center of anything you may want to venture out to do. We will continue to return yearly to celebrate one of the happiest days of our lives.

NillLocated in the heart of The Magnificent Mile, this hotel is a solid choice for couples or a small family to stay. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The inside of the hotel isn't particularly noisy, even on the weekends. The staff is pleasant and helpful. That being said, the place could use a little touching up. Our room had several instances of cracking and peeling paint. The hustle and bustle of the city can easily be heard through the windows, so bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper as you'll be awakened by sirens in the middle of the night. We quite enjoyed the museum on the first two floors. Valet parking is an option, but there's a parking garage about a half a block away from the hotel which would save you some money with a minimum of hassle.

★★★★★First off, the tag team front desk (specifically Helen and Fatima) were always available for questions on the hotel and the neighborhood. They took the time to explain restaurant recommendations and the hotel itself when we had questions. It always felt like they wanted to help. The hotel has a perfect location just a block off miracle mile. The breakfast at Lure was a simple and perfect way to start the day. The art was very well done and, while we weren’t particularly fond of the subject matter for the season, taking the time to go through the two floors of art became a perfect way to wind down at the end of the day when most other activities were closed. Beds were comfortable, good shower, and loved the environmental aspects especially the refillable water bottle approach. I would absolutely stay at the 21C Chicago again.

NillHad a lovely stay at the hotel. Customer service was great, just slow, especially the valet. Love the added art galleries and exhibits. We had a corner suite. It was lovely. There were several noticeable interior elements that needed updating or fixing. For a newer hotel, the interiors appeared much much older. The lack of closet space was slightly annoying. All in all, for the price per night, we enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a comfortable no frills hotel, in a great location, for a good price, this hotel is for you. If you are looking for a more elevated, luxury experience, I would look elsewhere.

NillThe gallery inside this hotel is incredibly spacious and full of unique art installations, most of them contemporary art. I found most of the exhibits interesting, profound and critical, we were here a couple weeks ago and the main subject of the gallery was society, beliefs and cultural/religious impositions so it was quite interesting to see different interpretations made by various talented artists about the same theme. If you’re visiting Chicago I recommend you coming to this gallery (is free!)

NillI vacate, or as I call it “evacuate” during Thanksgiving week to commemorate a very difficult experience I lived through a couple years ago. This year it was Chicago. From check in to check out the staff were the stars. They were so warm and helpful and understanding when I had a difficult day (anniversary of a difficult day). The desk staff was exceptional as were everyone I encountered in my stay. I am the manager of a restaurant so service is important when I’m not taking care of others and the whole staff welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home. The restaurant staff (not technically affiliated) were also top north. The location was close enough to the action, convenient to transit and super convenient to amenities like Trader Joe’s, restaurants and shopping. Room was comfortable clean and the whole property was top notch. The art installations were wonderful and there are little tucked away nooks where one can just go, sit and relax. Water bottles were beyond impressive (you can refill them and take them home) and very appreciated when exploring the city. Perfect place to jump into Chicago and explore. Highly recommend especially for solo travelers like me.

NillWe were genuinely excited to celebrate my wife’s birthday at this hotel, which we found beautifully advertised and appealing. The Gallery on the premises is a special touch. However, our experience was disappointing from the start. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed a considerable amount of hair on the bathroom walls. We contacted the front desk and appreciated the offer to switch rooms, but unfortunately, the second room also had similar cleanliness issues, including stained pillowcases and a malfunctioning fridge. When we called back to report these problems, the response felt abrupt. Even after housekeeping attended to the room (which we had to seat and wait for 20-30 minutes while the Housekeeper was cleaning the bathroom), we still found hair on the bathroom floor, leading us to clean it ourselves—a frustrating situation, especially for a special occasion. Additionally, the carpet in the room was in poor condition, with visible stains and a dusty odor. The room also had various dents and marks that indicate it’s in need of touch-ups and upgrades. Throughout our two-night stay, a persistent banging noise from the hallway disrupted our sleep, leaving us exhausted and dissatisfied. Additionally it was a challenge to charge our electrical devices because there is only one outlet in the room which is located over 6 ft away from the bed table. Overall, we left feeling quite disappointed. The money we've paid did not reflect the quality of hospitality we experienced.
