★★★★Booked two rooms for a family trip. The location was convenient, the rooms were up to date, and the bakery on the first floor was very good. Carol, the manager of the suites, was great. When we arrived, one or the rooms had some hair on the bed leftover from the previous guest and there were no pots/pans/cooking utensils provided. Carol took care of all that quickly. The problem is that she is there only 4 days a week, and there's no one else at the front desk or anywhere. We were lucky that our problems/needs occurred on the days she was there. ||We booked directly with Yugo, but all we received was an email with the dates and the total amount to be charged. No confirmation number or breakdown of the charges. And after we checked out, we found out they charged us more than the total because, we were now told, that the amount they quoted when we made the reservation "didn't include the taxes." We don't think that explanation is acceptable. We'll post updates.

NillBE AWARE that this is NOT a traditional hotel. You’re paying for a room in an apartment building filled with students. There is no staff, no amenities. There’s no one in the office after 7 or so, I’m not sure how I would have checked in if I arrived after hours. If you need a kitchen, it’s not bad. The bake shop downstairs is awesome, but the don’t open until 8:00am. If you’re traveling for business, that’s a little late.

★★★Took a family trip to visit a student at University of Illinois|First off the room was fantastic. It exactly suited our needs, if we go back and visit we may very well stay there again.||The problem is the place doesn’t know if it wants to be an AirBnB or a small hotel. Essentially the hotel is part of student housing but located in a separate wing. There are no amenities for the hotel guests, no workout room, indoor pool, or room service. That said, the service when you could get a hold of staff was very good, when you asked for something it was provided cheerfully. When is the key word here, there was not a lot of staff at all, and getting a hold of hotel staff was not easy. Also garbage removal is pretty much up to the guest. ||There is a bakelab on the premises,it is a coffee and pastry shop which is very good, its just that their pricing would make Starbucks blush. || Ideally this would be 3.5 stars as I said the room was exactly what we needed, was pretty clean when we got there, and we will probably stay here again. But I would prefer a more hotel like experience

NillThe front desk never answers their phone. We tried calling 2 days before our arrival & we were never able to get a hold of the front desk. Couldn’t leave a message because their voicemail box is full. The apartments themselves are nice, they’re newer construction so of course they’re still nice. We decided to stay here for the kitchen since we would be in town close to two weeks, so a hotel room wouldn’t have been ideal. We saw the pictures online showing they had a pool & so many amenities we thought it was great. The suites provide no amenities for their guest, we have no access to a pool, gym, or anything other than their lobby which is overcrowded due to their cafe. The apartment was not cleaned before our arrival or at least not properly cleaned. It was filled with dog hair, dirty countertops, dusty furniture & dead bugs on the bed. I had to go out of my way to purchase cleaning products to clean the apartment myself. Honestly, if you don’t need a kitchen I suggest staying at a hotel, we were staying at the Hyatt hotel the night before getting our room & it was amazing. You have complimentary breakfast, housekeeping & amenities. The hotel room & these suites are very close in price, honestly if we are every to be back in town again due to work reasons again we will not be staying here.

★★★While the room is nice and newer, the customer service is severely lacking. We arrived for check-in at 3PM (which is the stated check-in time). No one was at the desk. No one answered the phone and you could not leave a message as the voicemail was full. |Another couple told us they had already been waiting an hour for someone to show up. Someone showed up around 4 and told us the rooms were still being cleaned. We were able to check in around 4:30. They gave us the keys and told us where we could park but gave no instructions for anything else; such as how to access WiFi, if or how often the room would be cleaned, how to get any needed toiletries or coffee (we had one pod of regular and one decaf), or how to contact anyone if we had issues/questions. Luckily, we had a short stay and managed OK (except for no coffee after the first pod was gone).||One quirky part of the room layout is the TV position. If you are on the sofa, it is right on top of you and you can't watch it sitting in bed unless not against the headboard). It was difficult to figure out how to access local channels. There was no information in the room about how to use the TV. It could also use a nightstand on both sides of the bed.||If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend asking for a room facing the parking lot as there is a lot of road noise. There is a hospital around the corner so this included sirens.

NillI never write reviews. The service I received was so bad that I am writing just to say: AVOID YUGO at all costs. I booked a room at a low price more than a year in advance of graduation weekend. A few months later, Yugo cancelled my reservation for no good reason. I emailed about it twice, no response. I called and they put me off and gave me a different email promising to respond quickly. I emailed twice more, again no response. Give your business to someone else.

★★★Loved the look and feel of the hotel, but customer service was terrible. Don't, I repeat Don't even think about reserving a room at this hotel if you'll be arriving after 7 pm. You won't be able to check in. Check-in seems to be run by college students on some type of work study program. And forget about using the TV. No local channels and you have to use your own logins to watch anything. But the bakery is amazing. AMAZING.

NillI recently stayed at this hotel, doubling as student housing for the University of Illinois. The overall ambiance was pleasant, and the room boasted most kitchen essentials, though a baking sheet was conspicuously absent. The four of us managed with the provided utensils, but the limited dishware meant constant washing after each meal, which, frankly, became a bit of a chore. It would be great if the kitchenware was more generously supplied. The café downstairs offered a delightful dining experience, yet the persistent street noise proved to be a significant drawback. The constant sirens and urban clamor made it challenging to achieve a restful night's sleep, affecting the overall stay. On a positive note, the accommodations were generally comfortable, and the location's proximity to university-related activities was undoubtedly convenient. One minor hiccup was the rarity of finding someone at the front desk. However, the silver lining was the exceptional manager. She went above and beyond to address our concerns and even provided her personal number, ensuring that we had direct access to assistance. Her commitment to guest satisfaction added a personal touch to the experience, mitigating some of the inconveniences. Despite the quirks, the hotel's management's efforts make it a decent choice for a stay near the University of Illinois.
