Budget Host Inn

Normally I would have given 5 stars because I'm a fort dodge native but after getting out of the hot tub that had so many chemicals my daugther could not stop coughing from the smell then on our way out of the pool we found not one but two roaches crawling in the rocks in the pool area and yes they were roaches! It was so hot in our room even after we tried to turn the air on mind you that it is February! We ended up turning it off completely and opening the door to the hall to get some cool air in! We have stayed in this hotel numerous times in the past when my parents house caught fire they live there for almost 2 weeks please do something about the roaches because I would hate to have somebody get roaches from staying at your hotel other than that I have always loved this hotel and please fix the heater issue then I will change my review

I am completely DISGUSTED with this hotel! Found cockroaches in our room! I went to the front desk with one of the bugs and they offered to move us to another cockroach infested room! What really gets me is that they acted like it was a normal thing! They (the employees) weren't grossed out like we were! Makes me sick! I would like to know if the restaurant that is connected to this hotel knows that there is cockroaches there! Use caution if you stay there! BRING plastic bags to put your things in! Its cheap but NOT WORTH IT!!!

I got to spend a night here. Although a little outdated, this was still a nice place to stay. They have a pool, hot tub, and a bar and grill on site. For the price and amenities, it's not a bad place to stay. My room was clean and everything was in good working order. Free WiFi and satellite TV as well. I'll stay again when I come visit Fort Dodge.

I have now stayed in the hotel on two seperate occasions. The hotel is great for the price. The decor is a little outdated, but that has no effect on the friendliness of the staff. On both occasions we had adjoining rooms with our children. It is a nice place for a quiet weekend getaway. The pool is spacious and very clean. The hot tub is also very nice. On both occasions we have had pool side rooms and it is very convinent. I did purchase a drink from the on site bar, it was okay. They have coffee, cappuccino, vending machines, and even a couple arcade games. They dont have breakfast but honestly would rather have the lower prices then free bagels. Grdat job to the staff!

I have stayed at this hotel for long periods of time, while working in the towns surrounding Fort Dodge. Yes, I would like to see some upgrades to the beds, bedding and such but overall, the good out weighs the bad here. The hotel, though older, is well maintained and problems if any, are addressed politely and immediately. The Owner, Joe, is always involved and concerned with day to day operations. Local directions, general needs, comfortable stay and a returned visit will be guaranteed by the professional assistance of Terri and Fred. Terri can even give you the weather according to the Wooly worm.

Terri, at the front desk was great - friendly, helpful, funny!. Rooms need an upgrade, and halls a bit smoky, but the price was right. Coffee, cappacino and juice to go in the morning. Loved the gas pumps in the front foyer!

i gave them one star because they refuse to rent me a room based on the fact that i live in fort dodge. this makes it hard for me to rent a room at a decent price for my loved one who is coming from out of town for multiple days for a romantic getaway, now we can't do that because they are afraid that i might have a pool party.

No ATM although a sign was clearly posted. Desk person said there hasn't been one in year's. Other than the ATM, the place hasn't changed in year's. No updates what so ever. Pay a little extra and stay across the street!!!
