Big Horn Resort, Ascend Hotel Collection

We stayed for a night, booked 2 rooms. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. We were on the second floor and other than the occasional upstairs footsteps, we were undisturbed. Our kids had so much fun at the reef! The water was warm and kid friendly. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and informative. Definitely going to come back for our next Billings excursion. Anyone who has something bad to say about this place is just too picky.

After almost being completely turned off by bad reviews, I almost cancelled my stay. I’m glad I didn’t! We booked one night for the weekend to have a mini vacation for our kids. We arrived Friday afternoon and checked in no problem. Hotel staff was nice and gave us all the info we needed. I booked two rooms and was told on the phone the day prior that connecting rooms would not be a guarantee but was pleasantly surprised we got connecting rooms! Rooms were cleaner than I expected. Not perfect but acceptable. The shampoos were tiny so I suggest bringing your own if you plan to stay more than one night. Pricing for The Reef was fine. Definitely bring your own towels. Water was fine and my kids had a great time playing. Yes it was a little crowded but it’s to be expected on a weekend. The hotel room walls and ceiling are thin so yes we heard a bit of stomping above us but again to be expected at a family friendly hotel and it was quiet throughout the night. Beds are definitely old and a little sunken in but not totally uncomfortable. Was told they are renovating the place so hopefully new beds are to come! My kids and husband enjoyed the breakfast and I had some cereal and coffee. Again, no complaints. We will definitely stay again so we spend more time at the water park.

Here currently and I'm not impressed at all. Upstairs people are extremely loud, even after 2 calls to the office, it's closing in on 1am. The toilet has been running all night, there's weird stuff on the doorframe in the bathroom. I also didn't know that you have to buy daily passes for the reef part. Discount to $14 each if you're staying here, but pools are so full, you can't even move around and they're cold! We will never stay here again, and honestly I wish I had only reserved one night.

We must have been given a room on "dog" row. Barking all night even with a call to the desk.Same room, must have had 8 people in there with fighting and crying children. One o'clock in the morning. Call to the office again and they could have cared less. This was on the first floor. Second, room not ready even though it was late afternoon.Noise coming from upstairs constantly. this was at 11 at night. No need to stay there. If you have children you can go to the water park without staying there.

Took a minute to figure out how to get there. If you're not going for your kids and don't expect to be up all night I wouldn't stay here. I had requested a bottom level room, because I recently had to have emergency surgery and am disabled. The people upstairs got in there room about 10 after that it sounded like a heard of buffalo and they were obviously doing some major rearranging. I really have no clue what was going on, because they were really loud and rambunctious til about 3am, the noise finally calmed down. At about midnight my husband called the front desk to see if they could ask them to keep it down and they told him well they just had some people checking in, and my husband said no these people have been in there since 10pm and that's when it started.. after talking to the front desk they had only got louder and more annoying.. we stayed there, because my toddler had to be put under for a procedure and thought this might be nice for her, definitely won't be staying here again, I'd rather not get the discount for staying there and just pay for the water park pass and stay some where quieter. On to the beds they were worn down and had a visual dip in them, I had to sleep at the other end of the bed. The bath still had someone else's hair hanging on the wall, and some in the tub where obviously some had fallen off. Sorry won't be staying here again.

In town for a procedure at Billings Clinic 12/19 & 12/20. I called in advance to ask about any medical discounts that may be offered. The girl who answered the phone seemed incredulous that I would ask such a thing and told me no, they don't do that. I told her no problem and explained that my procedure wasn't until 1:30 the next day and if I could possibly have a late checkout. She curtly told me that she wouldn't have an answer until a manager was on duty the next day. Okay. I went ahead and booked online because the hotel was close to where we wanted to be. It was easy to tell upon checking in that it was the same girl from the phone call. She truly acted like she hated her job. She was busy eating in the back and would make customers ring the bell before checking the front. She seemed impatient and annoyed the entire night. It's too bad that one person can give the entire hotel a bad name. We won't stay again!!

Probably won't stay here again. Pool is boring for the kids it's quite a walk from the rooms. Water park is extra cost and has weird hours during the winter. They didn't have any towels for the kids so it was a long cold walk back to the room. Rooms are on the small side for the price.

To whom it may concern, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your establishment. Unfortunately, I believe my family and I were subjected to discriminatory treatment. We were the only black family on the premises, and I felt we were unfairly targeted and asked to leave without any prior notice. Furthermore, our belongings were handled carelessly and placed in black trash bags. Several items of clothing, including new clothes my son had recently purchased, were missing. When I inquired about these missing items, I received no explanation. This has caused significant inconvenience and distress, as my son is now without adequate clothing for the remainder of our trip. The reason given for our removal, noise complaints at 2:30 AM, is false and unsubstantiated. No one in my room was awake at that hour. Due to this deeply troubling experience, I strongly advise other black families against patronizing your establishment. I would appreciate a prompt and thorough investigation into this matter.
