We enjoyed staying in a tent here. The bed was very comfortable with west elm bedding. It was cold at night and we had trouble keeping the fire going but the staff came and helped. The bedding is sufficient to keep you warm. Thr bathrooms are individual rooms in a building that you walk to. They’re nice and adequate. The views are beautiful. We took the yoga class and fly fishing class offered. It was nice. The flushing isn’t in the actual water but it’s fun to practice in the grass for a few. The rodeo is nearby and you can drive to Idaho in about ten minutes or so. This is just outside of town and provides easy access to get back into the park. We enjoyed s’mores and playing cards in the main tent after eating dinner at the restaurant next door. It’s great for one night.

I was taking a much needed solo vacation and Under Canvas in West Yellowstone was perfect! I booked a fly fishing and hiking excursion through them and both trips were unbelievable…best time!! All the staff was so friendly, you can tell they love their job. They answered my questions and were so helpful. My tent was so comfy cozy especially at night, I slept so well covered under all the layers. Yes, it was cold when I woke up, but it warms up so fast it wasn’t an issue for me. Also, I had a toilet, sink and shower in my tent…which I loved. I can’t wait to try this one again, or maybe even another location. Highly recommend!!!

Several of my high schools friends and I went on a girls’ trip to Under Canvas West Yellowstone. The accommodations were fantastic! We loved sitting around the fire pits enjoying a glass of wine, complimentary s’mores and live music. |The staff was so helpful and welcoming! Especially Rio, Matt, and Jackie! |We also enjoyed several meals at the Bar N Ranch restaurant. The staff was very accommodating when we walked in and asked for a table for 10!

What an incredible place. I traveled with a group of friends (7) from around the country. Under Canvas in west Yellowstone offered us a beautiful location to enjoy all that Yellowstone has to offer. The beds in the tents were very comfortable. While the temperature dropped one night in the low 30s, the wood stove kept us warm. Don’t forget to ask for hot water bottles—they’re a nice touch before bedtime. |We enjoyed meeting in the lodge each morning for coffee and tea as we planned the excursions into the park for the day. The gates to west entrance is a short drive away and put you in the park near the prismatic geyser and Old Faithful. Then after a full day of hiking and wildlife spotting we returned to Under Canvas to relax by the outdoor fire. Sunsets were incredible and different each night. They even had hammocks by the river to unwind. |The staff at Under Canvas were very helpful. Even suggesting hikes based on first hand experiences that would give us best chance to see the wildlife we were looking for. |We are already looking for other Under Canvas locations for our next get together.

The location is beautiful. I loved the concept of this place. The kids loved the atmosphere and freedom this place offered, S'mores in the evening by the fire pits and games provided by the hotel. There is a nice little fresh water stream that the kids enjoyed swimming in. But glamping is not for everyone. Shower water was freezing cold and the hotel staff eventually fixed it after 2 attempts and 3 hours. If you are paying for glamping and a warm shower, you should get it every night, not half the time. The hotel did not offer any compensation. I couldn't sleep at night because of the cold weather. It gets very cold at night (tents are not insulated...), the heating is based on a wood burning stove that you need to fuel with firewood every hour or it goes out. So you go to sleep in 90 deg heat and you wake up at 2 am in 35 degrees. You hear every little sound outside the tent. Every person walking on the gravel path next to my tent or a golf cart driving on the path woke me up. All in all, it was a nice experience but I'm not going back there, especially considering the rate that they are charging. Next time, I will just bring my own tent or stay in a proper hotel.

Over the summer I got to have the experience at under canvas in West Yellowstone. Truly a unique experience, the staff make the experience rememberable, the tent Was very comfortable, stayed nice and warm with the fireplace and the bed was comfy. The reason for four stars is the onsite restaurant, The food really was not that good for the prices that we paid, the quality of the food just was lacking, the hamburger and chicken sandwich reminded me of a buffet style on a cruise ship, Except for the restaurant experience everything was great.

We stayed 2 nights. The first night was a bust. It was really windy, and it rained. The wind is SO loud with the canvas that it shakes the whole tent and the metal in the shower/stove rattled which was even worse. They have ear plugs and hot water bottles, but I wish they would’ve told us this the first night when we checked in. The second night was way better and super quiet. It’s a gamble on what kind of sleep you’ll get. The live music and events are so fun. The nightly smores are a great way to end the day. If it’s a clear night, you can see so many stars. The staff was friendly and quick to respond to any questions! No food is included and honestly, the restaurant was not good at all.

It was a disappointing stay, even though we were looking forward to staying here. The stove in the room was not working properly, and smoke filled the room, causing the fire alarm to go off. Hotel employees fixed it once. They didn't answer me if I asked about the cause, what I had to do, etc. They seem not to be good at talking with guests politely. The room smelled of smoke, but we were not offered a room change. Since it was cold and rainy outside, we did not request a room change, though. Furthermore, the same problem reoccurred, and the fire alarm went off again. I turned it off by myself at this time. We were afraid to use the stove, so we stopped using it. We spent a freezing night and woke up freezing in the morning. My wife got sick because of the stove malfunction and could not enjoy the trip for the next few days. It wasn't all bad, but the stove made it a bad experience. Besides, the music in the lobby kept playing late and was very noisy, and the golf carts driving around the tents in the middle of the night were also loud. I guess it might be forgivable for people who do some hard camping, etc., but this place calls itself glamping, and considering the price, I would not recommend it to anyone. To be honest, I was not that concerned about these all issues at first and thought we were just unlucky to have chosen this accommodation. So, I was not going to file a complaint, but I was so disappointed that it had such a negative impact on the rest of our trip, which we had been looking forward to, that I have been writing about for as long as I can remember.
