Mountain Vista Hotel

Nice but shows age. Stayed on first floor end of back building. Easy access to parking lot for early departure and late return from Yellowstone. Pizza joint was closed for the season. Continental breakfast was fully stocked except for bananas and your favorite coffee creamer. Stopped by the market in town and picked up some food items. Nice frig and Kcup in the room. Waffle maker in the breakfast area was a hit for everyone. Head of housekeeping was very nice and stayed next door at the KOA campground.

After spending the day in the park, (9/25/24) could not find a room in W. Yellowstone. We found one here but they gouged us good - $275.00! - for two. Had been a Super 8, small rooms. Desk clerk, Anthony, super great guy but the rip-off really saddened us just because they could. Never again.

The staff here was so friendly and the beds were the most comfortable that we had all vacation! Also a good breakfast with room to eat inside or outside. Coffee and tea available 24/7 was a nice touch. The rooms are a bit outdated and the bathroom is small. Ours also had some mold on the ceiling.

The location is just outside of Yellowstone. We booked double queen room for 4 people,The room pretty small, the shower stream was very weak and the shower head very low. Nice staff, and the wifi is great.

Customer service is quite friendly. If one spends $230+ for a room, it’s expected the mattress cover and fitted sheet stay tightly fitted on the bed. The elastic on ours was past its prime, and did not stay on. Only bunched up on the first turn. So, that, plus jerks letting doors slam until 2am, and resuming at 4am, I slept nearly zip. For that, having to endure a loud, crowded breakfast room. Not worth the $.

Super strong elastics on fitted sheet, could barely escape my sleep! Did not get poked by tub. Leadership did not deceive us and breakfast was petite but powerful!

An easy drive to the W Yellowstone Gate……maybe 7 minutes. Not in the downtown area if you’re looking to get to your hotel, park, and not drive again. It was very quiet and comfortable. They put out a decent selection for breakfast. Nothing hot except waffle if you’re looking for that. I wish I got the name of the young man that checked me in. He was super sweet and helpful.

Very nice comfy place outside yellowstone west gate. If you are staying here please don't miss sunrise just behind mountains. It is general store next to facility and pizza place in case you need it. Overall positive experience. Paul at front desk was really friendly and helpful. Thank you!
