Spark by Hilton Rochester University Area

Excellent mid-price hotel. The staff are friendly and super helpful. The rooms are very clean, quiet, well designed and comfortable. I asked for a one king bed, which isn't humongous but is spacious enough. Breakfast is nice, and coffee and tea are available all day. There are a few eateries close-by, a couple of them just steps away from the hotel. There have 4 or 5 electric car chargers in the front and 2 more of a different supplier on the side of the hotel. I didn't use them, but other people might find them very convenient. The location is excellent relative to highways and many areas in Rochester are 10 to max 20 minutes away, including Highland Park, Brighton and Park Ave, with all they have to offer, a Wegmans and several museums (Strong Museum of Play, Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester Science Center, George Eastman) and hospitals (Strong Memorial, Highland Hospital and Monroe Community Hospital).

We would absolutely stay here again! We had a great experience. The room was perfect for a family of 5! Super kid friendly. We were greeted by Sara at the front desk when we arrived and she was so friendly. Throughout our stay she was attentive and kind. The hotel was super clean. The breakfast was perfect! We will definitely be back again when visiting Rochester.

Room was totally fine, STAFF WAS AMAZING!!!! Especially Kim who really went above and beyond more than I would've ever expected. She was sweet and attentive. Sara was also very helpful! Nothing special as far as the property itself but I was very pleased with the value considering breakfast and great service

Friendly staff at check in, GM was there at check out and very friendly as well. Cute, comfy, quiet hotel! Room and bed were clean and comfortable, nice hot shower, I sadly missed the bagel bar because I slept in but it sounds delightful. Definitely would stay again!

The Spark brand seems to be an exercise in cutting costs (parking lot not snowplowed, no coffee/tea station in room) while selectively providing value. Our standard room was not spacious, but had furniture that neatly stored the large quantity of stuff we were traveling with. The otherwise low-rent bathroom is offset by an attractive, well-lit external sink area. Limited breakfast selection, pleasant seating area. The fitness center exceeded my expectations. Service was good after an initial misstep. These trade-offs and the recent renovation worked well for us, especially considering the convenient location for our stay.

Ok there I was... Back in Rochester for my grandmother's 94th birthday celebration. My cousin set up my accommodations and she made an outstanding pick. Service was great, the room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. This place gave me the feeling that it had recently undergone a complete renovation. Now, the room was not big but it was so nice and well furnished that I didn't care. The location was very quiet... Places to eat/shop are not far so for me it was a win! I will definitely stay again!

Sara & Emilee were very friendly and welcoming! This hotel is cute & clean. Very modern amenities with spacious rooms that are will kept. Easy access location to the expressway, and nice breakfast offered. Stayed Feb 28, 2025.

Horrible rude desk staff on all shifts. No accommodating at all. When I mentioned attitudes in hospitality the lady laughed and told me to call on her because nothing would be done. Housekeepers were very nice and friendly. Rooms clean. Found quite a few hairs in bed though. I should mention there is no pool as advertised!!! Kids were disappointed. I wouldn't stay here again. Looking through the reviews I see staff attitude is an issue and as the comment above stated by the employee... nothing gets done about it.
