Super 8 by Wyndham Port Clinton

AVOID....The photos do not represent the current state of the hotel. We were given a handicap room (not needed) with a shower only, but unfortunately only had one shower head mounted about 4 feet high, my husband is over 6 feet tall. The handle to control temp and flow was falling off and the shower curtain was moldy. The beds are comfortable, but have one sheet, a used blanket and the coverlet. I asked the front desk if the blankets are changed between guests...should not have asked if I didn't want the answer. At least he was honest. He said they are washed once a week, doubt they track which beds are washed and when. He said they don't have enough blankets to do that. I realize many hotels probably don't change all the bedding, but that is gross! At least some encase the gross blanket between two sheets. Thankfully I have learned to bring my own blankets. Through the ones provided on the floor...unfortunately they will probably pick them off the floor and make the bed for the next guest with them. The included breakfast is nonexistent, unless 4 individual boxes of cereal and one pack of mini donuts works for a whole hotel. No waffle maker as pictured. We were up early, not sure what time breakfast is supposed to be open bust wasn't until sometime after 7am. Not Ideal for those working for the day. We come to the area 2x per year but won't stay here again.

AVOID!!! AVOID!!! Honestly, it was the worst hotel I've stayed in! Had we had other options without paying hundreds more we would have left and done so! To start with, walk in the doors and the aroma was strong of incense, it was very overwhelming. The front desk employee was friendly but the older couple was very standoffish and not friendly at all. The rooms...DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT look like the pictures and they are very tired looking and dirty!!! We found a hard boiled egg behind the tv, a tylenol pill in a drawer and a cracker on the floor by the bed. We took them to the front desk and he just smiled and threw them away. |There was an incense scent in the room that wouldn't go away, I went and bought some air fresher to eliminate the original scent. |The coffee pot in the room was just the shell, no coffee, no cups, nothing to actually make a cup so we went out and bought our own!|The newly installed vinyl flooring was gross, I seriously don't think they have been mopped since they were installed! My new slipper bottoms were black within 6 hours of walking around the room! The bathroom door wouldn't even shut so thankfully it was just me and my husband because that was very annoying! Tiles in the bathroom were cracked and the floor had hair under the sink and behind the toilet, again, the floor didn't look like it had been mopped in months! |The breakfast, well, it shouldn't even be considered a breakfast! |Heed my warning, avoid this hotel!

We stopped to get a room but the place was closed for the season but evidently they ain't smart enough to put a sign out front or update their Google to let you know that. So you can waste your time and stop and try to get a hotel when they're closed for the season

If you need a comfy, clean,quiet, relaxing place to stay then super 8 in Port Clinton is it!!! Super friendly staff, cleanest rooms and hotel I've seen in a long while.. It is under new management so forget those older reviews and go relax for yourself you will not be disappointed they have a soda and snack machine with a great selection. Close to the islands and the point. Shopping and fast food within walking distance. Handicap accessible as well . Did I mention super nice staff. I'll stay again for sure

Beds are very comfortable The hotel looks old but they was only one available for our large group. They people were very friendly and accommodating. Our view however was McDonald’s parking lot.

The staff was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The location provides great value with easy accessibility to many of the Ohio Shores and Islands at a fraction of the cost. We drove up from Erie PA for the night. The hotel is a short drive to the Miller Ferry terminal if you are looking to get to the islands. The hotel is perfect for families on a budget. I strongly recommend this hotel as an option when you travel to the region

Ignore the older reviews. The place has a new owner and they really cleaned it up. I stayed here three nights in early June 2023 with my son so we could visit the islands and it was great. Very clean. Very friendly people. We stayed before the busy season started, so it was really quiet, only a few people staying there. So I can’t really speak about how quiet it is during the busy season. But it was nice, and really comfortable. And it was a quick drive to the ferries.

Room was very clean and quiet. Nothing fancy but definitely not run down. Good price for location. Staff was friendly and professional.
