BEWARE!!!!!! This place is the worst hotel I've stayed in for a very long time! Cheesy combo lock on the front door. No one there. A feeling like your trespassing. The lock on the room was wobbly, and the door was previously kicked in. Bed was sagging in the middle by about a foot. When we arrived, the egg crate on the mattress was rock hard because the heat wasn't on, and the windows were allowing tons of cold air into the room. We went to dinner to allow the room to heat up. I could go on. This place is worth $20 a night. The locals were shocked that we were staying there. They thought the place was closed and up for sale. The owners should be ashamed. The granite room is a joke. It's a granite floor with the heat cranked up like the sand room floor. These are something you dream up when stoned. I'm not sure this place even legally opened!

After a GREAT day at Crazy Horse, we were excited to go to our resort hotel which turned out to be anything but!! Pulled up to a run down building that was for sale with boards on many windows. Checked in to our 2nd floor room just before 8pm. Musty odor in the lobby. The guy left;said we could have his parking spot.NO ONE would be on premises while we stayed there. We were the only guests there. The advertised 1891 steakhouse was not operable nor was the bar. The massages we wanted wouldn’t be available. Owner said you have to book in advance.News to us.We wondered how we would be safe- being the only ones there and no hotel security-the owner said he would lock us in & we would have a key to the main door downstairs to get out if we needed to. What if there was a fire?Better grab the key to get out. We conveyed our concerns to the owner. He said he didn’t know why we wouldn’t feel safe & no refunds. We travel extensively, staying in small boutique hotels as well as large franchises & have never experienced this. The only guests & no staff at all present. I believe staffing struggles are everywhere;if you can’t find staff;but are willing to take 181.00 per room from innocent travelers, you owe it to them to be present yourself. If it means you become the host, bartender,&attendee, you do it. It’s your reputation. Don’t abandon your paying guests! Wish we had read the reviews prior to booking. I’ve seen the pathetic responses by the owners to the viable complaints about this eatablishment. I’m sure they will post one here as well. Save your money 💰 we called the owner, recommended he come lock his hotel up & we would stay somewhere else.

This is the worst experience I’ve had at a hotel/resort and I’ve been traveling 67 years. When we arrived at the hotel there was a man that met us and let us in the back door. He gave us codes to get into our rooms . Then He got in his car and left in a hurry. We arrived before 8pm, the website said there were front desk personnel present and the restaurant was open . There was no one at the front desk . There was no one at the restaurant. Later I found in a different website that the restaurant was temporarily closed , we were not informed. We were looking forward to a “spa experience “ at the “resort”. No one was there . When I say no one was there , there was no one in the entire facility … no security , no front desk staff, no bar staff, no restaurant staff… and no other guest in the entire place . We were the only 4 people in the entire place . We roamed the entire place looking for people … no one. Think The Shining! There were for sale signs on the place and several windows were boarded up. I got the feeling that It was not safe. The front door was locked , we entered the back door … It was not locked. Therefore , anyone that wanted to enter the facility at any time was enabled to do that . That is not a safe situation. The website for the Red Rock looked great … the reality was not even close . This is false advertisement and fraudulent. I feel this has been going on awhile . Save your money don’t go to Hotsprings SD, don’t go to Red Rock resort … It is unsafe and fraudulent… btw I never write reviews but people need to be warned about this place

Love this hotel. The rooms are nice sized comfortable beds and our bathroom has an amazing tub to relax in. Very quiet between rooms and guests in the hall. Yes, it is warm on the second story because of the spa. the ambiance of the rooms makes up for it. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. The 1890 steakhouse did not disappoint. We will be back.

This place is a work in progress for sure.  We had a group and rented the third floor which has 3 rooms(4 beds),  and a large party room.  The elevator was broken but he did let us know ahead of time and give us the option to cancel. We didn't and it was a bit taxing on the older folks going up to the third floor.  I thought it was fine, but the rest of the group wouldn't go back.  I was bummed that the steakhouse was only open Friday (I was planning to go on Sat)  I think they were short staffed. Anyway the owner was very nice and I hope to see this place thrive in the future.

This stay was so very nice! The architectures of this beautiful building make you feel the time of the name of the 1891 fantastic steakhouse inside! This has excellent locally grown beef cooked to perfection even though the owner had to fill in as the normal cook had a medical emergency. The corner suite was comfy with the faux fireplace and rug. The tall ceilings again was a sign of the era and the room was warm unlike other places that seem drafty with those types of large windows. One recommendation I have would be to fill your own tub, if you stay in the corner suite and enjoy, not to waste your $ in the other tub. The massage chairs are nice and relaxing! I also loved the extras you can purchase like wine and roses! My man made me feel like a Queen!

What a gem situated in a beautiful quaint town. This lovely newly renovated historic hotel is well worth the few extra dollars for a night. It's clean and well-appointed with an elevator. The restaurant served us a delicious bison steak dinner. The servers were kind and cheerful. Wish we could've stayed longer!

While this is the off season I expected at least decent wifi and the basic amenities. I got neither. Our room had a wifi connection but no internet. No mini fridge and only one small paper cup for coffee making. No microwave. I think these are very basic amenities that should always present. Very disappointing. Would not stay again.
