NillThis review is on the meal. I had the shrimp scampi, which was cooked properly and served on a nice rice and vegetable mix. My husband's flat iron steak was excellent! The glaze on it was wonderful. I would eat here again, but service is slow.

NillSure it's quirky. That's the point. It was built and designed in The hotel rooms are amazingly clean and the beds are super comfy. The room I was in 201 was quiet even though it faces the main road. The room was nicely appointed with period lamp, wallpaper, and pictures. To use the hotel it helps to be able to climb a short flight of stairs but they do have a mobility chair if needed. The outside still needs some love but nothing to complain about with the inside of some of the rooms. My room was great but others in my party not so great. One had basically a bed in a room. So uneven quality but my room gets a nod of approval.

NillWorst restaurant I've ever dealt with. We walked in to a sign that says seat yourself, but seat where? The restaurant was half empty and the other half all had dirty dishes on the table. The hostess was rude and told us we would have to wait. While waiting we could hear her talking with other staff about us. At this point we decided we would take our business elsewhere as we know there are plenty of other places that would appreciate our business. I will never go back to this restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone looking for good service. As a service industry you should never talk bad about your customers, but at the very least, you should make sure they can't hear if you do. Terrible!!!!

NillDidn’t stay. Very old and tired. Smelled stale. Nothing about it made us want to stay and try it out. We previewed our rooms (needed 2 to accommodate our family). Got our money back and moved on out of town. Not scared of staying in old hotels, but this one felt like it wasn’t being taken care of adequately. Bathrooms in one was extremely awkward and felt like we would have wanted another shower after being in it. Both rooms and bathrooms have never had any updates from probably the 70’s or 80’s at least. This hotel needs TLC, needs a fresh facelift both inside and out.

★This place was not at all as advertised. There’s a difference between historical and just plain run down. The staff who are the obvious owners charged us more than the cancellation fee to cancel. Didn’t even bring a single item in and still had to pay for a waste of our time. The place smells very old. Understandable. Window A/C in the rooms. Parking is across a busy street and the small space to park in front to unload was being used by the owners. Felt uncomfortable the entire time checking in. I requested rooms close together and was given rooms at opposite ends. There were many rooms available that made more sense. There is no restaurant, no massage area, nothing that was stated Available on site was actually available. Don’t waste your time and money. The little cabin we ended up staying in just south of the Braun “Resort” was way better.

NillWell, the good news is I didn’t have to make dinner! Bad news is service was extremely slow, 2 tables, 4 people and it still took 20 min to get a glass of water. We ordered onion rings for the starter...Menu stated we would get 10. We got 10. 4 whole and then 6 tiny pieces. Taste was good.,immediately followed by our dinner. Filet, baked potato, and a tablespoon of steamed mixed veggies. I have had better meat from the local supermarket, and the steamed veggies were Birdseye. The salad bar had 3 dressings and a variety of extras. One soup choice. Stay home, buy all this food at local store or choose another restaurant!

★★Hotsprings is a beautiful town that I found worth visiting. The hotel is a historic structure built during the first decades of the 20th century. It has a cosy small lobby well furnished in the colonial style. The staircase leading to the rooms has a special escalator for the disabled which is definitely a plus. The hotel incorporates a restaurant bar that serves decent food. The room that I stayed in was nicely furnished again in the colonial style. The bathroom had a steam bath a definite plus. |Sheets and towels were clean. However the bath wasn't. The faucet on the sink did not function properly. There were dead insects around it. |The main problem with this hotel is the management. Although I had a reservation, check in was cumbersome, difficult and time consuming one level below frustration. At 20.30 I went to dine at the restaurant only to be informed that I had 45 minutes to enjoy my wine and food. A check was delivered to my table before asking for some desert. It is rather odd for a restaurant that incorporates a bar to close at 21.15 hrs. especially in a tourism season.|To sum it up, the infrastructure is well established but the management needs professional guidance. A friendly, helpful staff with smiling faces would definitely change the outlook of this hotel. I personally did not feel comfortable and didn't enjoy my stay.

NillWe were greeted immediately as we walked in by Dan, who I believe is the chef, or works in the kitchen. Super friendly and nice. We got a room with two beds - the beds are HUGE. Old, funky hotel - really interesting character and it's definitely not "modern," but it's far more interesting than your average chain hotel. Totally affordable and love the location. You can easily walk right downtown and enjoy the town. Whenever we're back in the area we will be staying here! There isn't breakfast but the cafe down the street is awesome. If you're lucky enough to stay here when Melissa is working, she's the best. Great staff. We decided to have dinner here as well, despite some negative reviews on Yelp. The restaurant was definitely understaffed but all you need to have is a little bit of patience and a good attitude. Our dinner was a killer experience. It took a few minutes to get our bottle of wine, granted... but once we had that, we ordered up an appetizer and it got to us in about 10 minutes. It did take 50 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we got our meals but we spent it happily drinking wine and enjoying the gorgeous night on the patio, eating the appetizer and soaking it all in. A fabulous, leisurely evening. And to have a bottle of red wine, an appetizer and two very tasty filet mignon dishes for $55... it was fantastic.
