Room was on the second floor but they had an elevator which was convenient. You can see Mount Rushmore from the balcony. There was a breakfast buffet offering right next door. Good location for visiting the local sites but on the edge of town so not so noisy or crazy.

Just need more pillows but was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again and loved that it is walking distance to either side of the town and was able to enjoy ice cream and shopping. Love the atmosphere it provides as it is very unique in the way it sets you back in time was life was simple and reminded me that.

Nice place to stay. Close to Mt Rushmore. You can even see it from the hotel. Very quiet. The room is a little small. Wifi not very strong. But, we'd stay again. Needs a little updating. I'd suggest more up-to-date bedding. Maybe a bigger TV. Staff was very nice. They have free coffee which is really good tasting.

Good location, typical mid-range motel, clean, older place, staff was very friendly. the view of Rushmore was from the side. Meals available within walking distance. Since we were here in late season some places were already closed for the season.

Great location closest to Mt Rushmore! ||Stayed here 1 night in mid June to get an early start at Mount Rushmore the following morning.  I got a great deal online for a one night stay. This is the closest motel to Mt Rushmore, and one of the cheapest in the whole Custer area. It was a good value for just over $100/night. ||Decent sized room. |Furniture was dated, but ok.   |Average comfort for a budget friendly motel in the mid west. |Bed comfort was average. |Clean, though the carpet was old. |Very friendly reception. |Easy check in and out. ||Mini fridge in room, but no microwave, which was fine for the price. Hot water, coffee, and a community microwave were available in the lobby 24/7.  Some kind of minimalist breakfast is offered there, but we left too early to see what it included. ||Elevator (not common in motels in the mid west). ||Location was great! |About a 4 min walk to the Borglum Museum (less crowded version of the Mt Rushmore Visitor Center museum. Info focuses on the sculptor) and the wood chipping/ carving art company, Dahl's, whose displays you will find in most of the towns around Custer. This one features the largest sculpture of Bigfoot / Sasquatch. Good for a quick photo opp. I was surprised it was open at night. We strolled through the well-lit outdoor collection around 9pm on a weekday in June.  |Tip: Wear mosquito repellant in Keystone! ||We walked another 4 min or so  to a small, well-lit strip of stores and restaurants lining both sides of the street. At this point, all but a handful of shops and pizza places were closed. |Tip #2: Go eat before 8pm! ||I never did see Mt. Rushmore from the motel, but in all fairness, it was really foggy when we checked in, and I didn't look very hard in the morning because we were headed there next. ||Great location to get to Mt. Rushmore early which I strongly recommend. The parking lot is only 5 or 6 min away from the motel and opens at 5am. The viewing area and walking path are open-air and accessible before the  "official" opening hours of the Visitor Center at 8am. |Tip #3: GO EARLY before the MASSIVE crowds appear at 8! ||Coin operated laundromat next to the gas station next door. We didn't stay there long enough to use it, though. ||Carpet throughout the halls and room was old and worn. The elevator carpet smelled like dust and pet hair. The room itself was a little musty, but better with the A/C on.  ||The towels were small and rough (very common in mid west hotels). ||Thin walls. Could hear muffled conversations and kids crying.  ||All in all,  it was a very adequate budget stay conveniently close to Mt Rushmore. When you book the cheapest room in town, you shouldn't expect amenities or modern decor. ||Because I booked a flash sale price on line far in advance of a night in early June, I was pleased with the value of the clean room that functioned as advertised. |

We booked room with view of mountain and continental breakfast. Received this the night before check in. ||“Welcome!|We are not offering breakfast and housekeeping service will be limited|during your stay. We understand that you may still need items like new|towels or toiletries during your stay, please see the front desk. “||Our view from the window was the parking lot. You have to go outside to see a partial view of Mount Rushmore.

Hotel is super close to Mount Rushmore. There were some hiccups with check in due to a computer issue. The desk staff were consummate professionals and got me checked in relatively quickly. The room was serviceable and clean. The only point of concern was after reading the safety notice on the back of the door I wondered how one was to lock the window in the room. Otherwise things were fine.

Honestly, I had really low expectations due to some reviews… but there were no issues! Coffee definitely was hot and ready 24/7. Though the rooms are outdated and I should have called to request more pillows, the room was clean, the shower hot, I was happy to see a refrigerator in there, and the staff was very friendly!
