Ramada by Wyndham Keystone Near Mt Rushmore

I would not stay here again. Wyndam hotels cancelled our room at the Baymount at the last minute and scheduled us for the Ramada stating that we would get all the same amenities - we did not. Do not go to Keystone between October thru April.

This place is very cute and quaint. My first original phone call with the front desk lady rubbed me the wrong way but I decided to go into with a fresh start the next day for check in. She was very kind and it changed my whole perspective. They allowed us an early check in as it was my partners 21st birthday. They also allowed us to have a late check out the next day. The location is great, walking distance to every thing. We didn’t get to use the hot tub sadly because we got back in late to the hotel but it was warm and clean when we checked it out earlier in day. The room was a little small but it was clean and the decor was simple and pleasing to the eye. The only 2 things that didn’t warrant a 5 star review was at 9am a cleaning person opened up our door and almost came in and I had to jump up and say we were in there. I asked for a late check out and got that approved so I wish there had been some better communication on the staffs part. Secondly i went to take a shower at 10am and I waited for 10 minutes to see if the water would get warm and it didn’t so Im assuming the water heater is quite small and everyone had gotten up to take their showers before me ha. So I took a cold shower and it was fine but definitely would have preferred warm water on a cold day. Also they do have complementary coffee and decaf as well so that was awesome.

The rooms and the property was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect at the start of Main Street with easy walk to everything. BUT if you want a hot shower or bath you won’t. We were there 3 days and I only got 1 hot shower. My wife and daughter look forward to a hot bath after a day of touring. They got 1 hot bath.

King room was decorated nicely, but very tiny. There was a roach on the ceiling, the fridge was crammed in a corner so that the door would not even open all the way. Barely any place to put luggage for 2 people. Very poor lighting in the bathroom. TV was on the wall in the corner above the bed, so you have to duck your head when you go around the bed so you don't bump the TV. Gentleman at check-out the next morning didn't even ask us about our stay. The attached restaurant is very nice and has good food. Would eat there again, but will no stay at the hotel.

We went and stayed one night. Was transferred to this hotel because the other one was closed for the season. Well got in our room and the shower floor had a hole in it. The pool looked green the pool deck looked moldy. The window in our room was broke and the screen was falling out told the night person and the morning person and they did nothing I talked to the AGM and we got half our money back. Oh the food we had was gross also.

The staff was friendly and most helpful. We needed to make multiple changes to our reservations during our stay and they were able to accommodate every request. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants and shops and a great home base for touring the Black Hills. We will be back next year!

Great location, we walked everywhere while we were in town and we were never too far away from our room. The room itself was smaller than we had thought or what we saw on the pictures. To be fair, we were there one night to sleep, and then move on with our travels. Staff was nice and helpful.
