Sonesta Essential Rapid City

For the price, this was a good stay for our group. The reason we chose this hotel is they have a family suite with 3 queen beds. We were pleased to discover this was really two adjoining rooms with a permanent opening between the two, so our group of 6 had two bathrooms which was clutch. We experienced the issue other reviews had with the inability to lower the temp in the room. While I was checking in someone called the front desk about it too. They should address that issue. Luckily it was cold the night we stayed. It was one of the better included breakfasts I’ve had at a hotel in recent memory. Biscuits and gravy was good and the biscuits were actually moist. The only reason I’d hesitate to book again is that I like to sleep in a good room… but for the price it was a great deal for my crew.

Room was very dirty towels had stains on them smelled horrible, stains on the floor ac didn't work it was a horrible place to stay at. We checked out right away. Tried getting my money back because I was only there for 20 mins enough time to find a new place. The manager of the building have called me yet too talk about my experience and the problems. I do not request this place at all unless you wanna get bothered by people asking you for money constantly.

Positive: Great price. Room was clean and seemed recently updated. Negative: My room was in a separate building from the main hotel - felt kind of u safe. Also, the breakfast was awful. Cold ?hot? food. No forks. No juice.

We stayed for 4 nights, Oct 25 - 30, and during this time, no cleaning showed up. We I complained and requested some minimal cleaning, the receptionist said the hotel is understaffed, and no cleaning personnel is available. Eventually, we received clean towels and advice to get rid of trash in the rooms ourselves. 0_0

Our room temp was 76 degrees. After we called the front desk we were told that the thermostat is centrally controlled. We were told by the desk "I don't know what to tell you".

If I could give a lower score I would. A cardboard box in skidrow is cleaner and nicer than this place. Never again will I stay here.

83*F in the middle of the night, impossible to sleep with. Room service stated there’s nothing we can do. At least they gave me a fan but 83F is ridiculous
