NillBeautiful and quaint! If you want a real experience and a bit of quaint throwback, you'll want to stay here while you are in Yankton. SD. The location in downtown can't be beat as it is across the street from the Meridian Bridge. The interior has been tastefully redone and the old woodwork is to die for. I'm bummed I didn't get to take photos of the lobby.

NillAttended a wedding reception here. Ran out of food, food was cold, and a there was a very awkward and embarrassing several minutes for the bridal party when they arrived to sit at the head table and there were 4 too few chairs to seat everyone. On a positive note, the place was pretty.

NillI spent 3 nights at the hotel and had a wonderful time! The owner Curt is an extraordinary welcoming person and we had some beautiful chats on the terrace in the back of the venue. A very special place, full of antiques, history and newspaper snippets on the walls that will guide you back in time through Yanktons rich Wild West history. Thanks again Curt for having me!

NillThe Riverfront Event Center & Hotel. An Extraordinary historic building. A friendly and courteous innkeeper. Nice clean rooms. We stayed in the Yankton Suite that overlooks downtown. A charming suite with hardwood floors, good size entryway with large closet area, full kitchen, living room with double-sided working fire place into the king size bedroom, 2 flat screen TVs, large bathroom with whirlpool.

NillWell, I had been to many dances here over the course of the past decade because one of my older brothers owned a DJ service and was in here quite a bit for weddings. I like the spot. It was very wide open. The owners took great pride in updating the property and renovating it. We didnt do a lot of shopping around. We probably should have. It was really too bad Cena passed recently. We booked this place in the fall of 17 for a June 2019 wedding. They made some pretty good changes to the pricing on things. There was a really good employee Caycee. She really helped us a long the whole process. They were very accommodating with our special day. We got married out in the back of the place during rib fest 2019. It was a pretty good time. Like other venues they have unfavorable rules on bringing in your own food and drinks. Overall, a really good experience. My guests really liked the hotel rooms as well. You get a special rate if you are guests to someones wedding.

NillThis has been such difficult review to write because we loved the venue and how it looked for our wedding, but there were some major negatives that came out of having this venue specifically. When we toured the event center we were told that tips were calculated into the servers wages, which we agree with wholeheartedly, and any tips would be paid out to my wife and I, leading up to the event we told everyone we invited that this was the case. After the party was over we talked to the bartender, who let us know that tips wouldn't be paid out to us, which again, wasn't what we were told months before. The owner over the venue the next day, after we brought up this issue stated there's no way to know how much was tipped in cash, and paid us $150.00 to compensate for this. We did no dollar dance or any fundraising at the wedding, telling everyone this is how we would be receiving funds, which I can only assume left us negative close to two thousand dollars based on telling everyone in our family this is the only way we would accept money from them. Another negative was the food handling, we specifically asked for a separation of food because of allergies close family members and wedding parties experience. When we were getting food we were informed that there was a mixup and all of the food was put together, there was no way to know what food was allergy conscious. This could have been a mixup on the caterer's end, or miscommunication between the venue and the catering service. The day after when we were picking up the venue with friends the owner of the venue dropped off a box of chair ties that we didn't use for us to untie for him. Venue 10/10 my person experience 3/10.

NillVery unprofessional owner who didn’t even greet us with her name and ask for our names during the viewing (not to mention her being late). I understand being busy with other weddings but having a personality with the couple viewing the space means everything. It had an amazing history but had a few VERY obvious issues that could have been fixed. I don’t think the pricing is appropriate for the space that is offered since a lot of the history of the room is masked up by “retro” renovations.
