Candlewood Suites DFW Airport North – Irving, an IHG Hotel

I had an amazing stay at the Candlewood Suites near DFW! The rooms are huge—way more spacious than I expected. It felt more like a studio apartment than a hotel room. Everything you need is right there: a full-size fridge, microwave, stove, dishes, and even a dishwasher. The bed was super comfortable, and the workspace was perfect for getting things done. It’s also super convenient to the airport but quiet enough to actually relax. Whether you’re staying for a night or a week, this place has everything covered. Highly recommend!

This is the nicest Candlewood we have ever visited! Everything is new and clean. The split bathroom design with large vanity counter is so nice and there were plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. The location adjacent to D/FW airport is very convenient. We were to the drop off point in less than 5 minutes. Will definitely stay here next time we need to be at the airport.

There are roaches at the property. However, as a Texan, I am relatively unphased as they haven’t completely overran the building. If you attempt to call the front desk to request a pickup from the airport shuttle, best of luck—they sparsely answer. However, the shuttle arrived at the airport quite quickly. Overall there are good amenities and the rooms are pretty clean aside from the cockroaches and a few heat marks on the sheets. Please note I am white trash and rate things from my perspective.

I stayed at Candlewood Suites by IHG for one night because I had a 14-hour layover at Dallas Airport. The stay was great! After a long flight, the bed was very comfortable and helped me rest well. The hotel is about a 5-minute drive from the airport, which made it very easy and convenient. The room was clean and had everything I needed, like a small kitchen, a desk, and a nice sitting area. It felt like home, even for just one night. There were two things I didn’t like: they don’t offer breakfast, and the receptionist was very slow. We had to wait a long time to get our rooms, which was hard after a tiring flight. Still, overall, I highly recommend Candlewood Suites if you need a comfortable place to stay near the airport.

Rooms are great. Service! Unknown here, free coffee and laundry. Location, great if it is for 1 night before a flight. Shuttle if you need. If it is for more, 1 or 2 weeks on the area... pass it! If you have an odd room number, you will have the noise of aircraft landing/taking off + the train, right on the back!!!!. I guess, even room # will not ear the train. Just a guess!!!! Not sure!!! As a business man staying 2 weeks, I will never book it again.

I had a mixed experience during my recent stay. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and made check-in smooth and welcoming — definitely one of the highlights of my visit. However, I was disappointed with the airport shuttle service. The staff member in charge of the shuttle, particularly the one wearing a hat, was quite rude and unprofessional, which left a negative impression. The shuttle itself also seemed disorganized and poorly managed. Overall, while the front desk team provided great service, improvements are definitely needed in the transportation area to meet the same standard.

Nice and well stocked one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. My shower valve in the bathroom however, did not work therefore, I could not take a shower and had a very early checkout. The initial room I was assigned smelled of fish and/or curry so I was reassigned. House keeping should try to eliminate smells in the kitchen area since guest are allowed to cook and prepare meals in the kitchen.

This hotel is underwhelming. No pool, breakfast not included only free coffee. My room was on the third floor. The elevator was sketchy, the walls were super thin and you could hear people talking next door clearly and their alarm clock going off. They did have free laundry on site. If you don’t have laundry supplies you can purchase from them. My room did have a mid size fridge with ice maker, cook top stove, dish washer and silverware/dishes. I stayed 4 nights for work. There is no restaurant on site, Closest food option is a Whataburger you can walk to.
