NillI was given Room 101 and it was awful. One of the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed. There was a horrible odor in the room. There questionable people hanging out in the hallway near my room. There was a door that lead to what appeared to be a maintenance room and it did not appear to be locked, but there was a couch in my room that was pushed up against it. I guess that was supposed to secure the door. There was also a pretty large hole in the wall, but there was a painting hanging on the wall to help cover up part of the hole. I will never stay at this hotel again. The only positive part of my stay was that the lady at the front desk was nice. And the location is good.

NillVery rude staff, please avoid this place. The man at the office seemed like he was annoyed from the start, I got checked in at 1a.m after a 12 hrs drive all i wanted was to sleep! But then I get an automated phone call in the morning reminding me about checkout time. To top it off they even were waiting outside my room 1 hr before check-out time, and the housekeeping lady yelling "I'm waiting for room ___ to check out!" Definitely won't be back.

★★★★★The Owner Mr K is a stellar human being. The reviews on here are so saddening because he really is a wonderful man, who does the most with what he is given. He offers shelter for those who need it the most, many who are quite bitter and ungrateful for the exceeding amount that he gives to them, too. There’s so much more than meets the eye…a lot of behind the scenes work that he does will organizations too. He does it all by himself, with the work of maybe one other loyal employee, and he works wonders with the hell that is thrown at him week to week. I don’t say that lightly, think of the worst thing you could walk in on, every single morning, if you owned a place like he does. The most undeserving people, in most accounts, he gives endless second chances to. He is the example of what it means to be forgiving and generous, and caring, and compassionate. One of the most patient people I have ever come across. The scariest and most hopeless seeming people, that’s who leans into. He continues to give all that he has in complete humbleness and generosity to those that are struggling in the community, and is even seen as a type of Father figure it seems to a lot of the people that frequent his establishment, even if they fail to see it. He works tirelessly day in and day out to provide for people, and he deserves so much more help than he has. He really does all he can to flip the place around, with the constant terror that is added to his daily life. He is fearless, and faced every obstacle with his head held high, with constant opposition. Multiple rooms are trashed to despair within a night, and he BY HIMSELF(and Julie the beautiful Angel) finds a way to repair it all with the blink of an eye. His hospitality and kindness is so abused, and as painful as it is to see, I respect him so much as a person, for the heart that he has, and the will that he has to keep on giving. He had a beautiful lobby, magical even, and is very willing to offer any needed services to those who ask. He is a person who has The Lord in and around him, regardless who is able to feel that presence. My first encounter with him, involved Christ, and from then on, no matter what I was lacking—in the short amount of time I knew this man—he struck me with awe, and it will stick with me for my entire life.

NillAbsolutely nasty motel!! The only good things I can say about this place is the lady at the front desk was very kind and considerate and the bed was very clean. The rest of the room was just disgusting! The carpeting wasn’t even attached to the floor in several areas which caused me to trip over it. The sink and faucet were filthy! The tub and faucet were filthy! The toilet was gross. All of the furniture in the room looked like the were brought from the junkyard and outside, on the property, there are several old washing machines and a massive amount of huge potted plants with a long hose laying on the ground that someone can trip over. The whole place is a mess!

NillI chose the Edelweiss Inn Hotel located in New Braunfels because I thought I was going to give my money to a family that cared and not a big corporation. Boy was I so wrong!! Original family SOLD- I did ask the lobby employee. New owners DO NOT CARE about you. We arrived to the hotel on July 21st , 2023 when summer external temperature was a record 103F and room AC was OFF when we arrived and room was VERY HOT. We stayed in the suite # 221 which is a bigger room in the 2nd floor and a corner of the hotel, located right besides the exit going to the main 35 highway. It was noisy throughout the night. It took 4 hours for the AC to bring the temp down to at least 80F. 6 hours to finally feel comfortable at around 70F since AC is older and room is a suite. We suffered from heat during THE FIRST 3 hours and wanted to move to another hotel but were too tired due to driving and working all day. Husband is 65y/o and he suffered from this experience. Grab bar is not safe (out of code) in the bathroom is coming off, when I held myself from the handle to go into the bathtub, the handle stick comes off and I almost felt. I have been going to the gym for the last 2 months, so I did not fall. I made my husband aware of this issue to prevent him from falling. Bathroom vent is not working. By code it should work because bathroom do not have windows. The bath tub is also at a height higher than a regular bathtub- SO IT NEEDS A SAFE GRAB BAR!! I had to raise my leg higher than in any other hotel with a bathtub; possibly because it is an old bathtub spa (?), but I am sure there are regulations around adequate bathtub height that hotels need to review/follow. The smoke detector is older than dirt; look like an antique, plastic is dark yellow. I wonder if it even works?? Coffee machine did not have coffee Sink did not have a stopper. The suite looks like a museum, very dated and dingy with old furnitures and unnecessary old equipment in it. Carpet looks old and dingy. I brought extra pairs of socks and after I took a shower I walked the carpet with my socks on because that carpet look old and gross. The stairs that goes to our suite cannot be used because the are UNSTABLE according to the hotel person in the lobby- she made us fully aware NOT to use the staircase going to our room (why should we???), so we needed to go out, up one level and then around and into the upper side of the lobby ( same place we left) and voila! we found our suite. This is a code violation. There is a fan falling off (you can see wire exposure) right outside our suite, this is a code violation. There is a grey bucket outside every AC unit in the first floor to catch the condensation. Is this a code violation? Lobby WAS HOT and uncomfortable, with no seats ( full of plastic plants, so you don’t seat or stay there) there is a loud plastic duck screaming at you when you enter and when you leave the hotel lobby. We should have listened to the duck! There was only ONE large towel per adult in the room (they don’t want you to use their water I guess) Also ONE KEY given to you, we were two- no questions asked. The refrigerator inside our suite was DIRTY. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

NillWorkers looked and acted like drug users. Innkeepers were rude. Accused us of stealing, would say to "stop crying" when we found rat feces, roaches and frogs in our room when I told him about it. Spend an extra 50$ and don't come here. Rooms were always falling apart. AC never worked. I wish this place was family owned. It states there's free breakfast but that isn't true, nor do they have an ice machine. (I was told to go to the gas station for ice)

NillOwner helped me out with pricing of the room in trade of doing some work for him as well as $100 a week. I do not suggest doing any work for him. He is very rude, ungrateful and works his women employees to the bone and he did not pay me as agreed upon. He had me squatting for 7 hours straight taping the sidewalk so he can paint when he's got a young healthy man worker and i only agreed to housekeeping. I am still sore 3 days later. He asked me to do more taping but I apologized and told him I was not able to bend down anymore due to my extremely sore muscles and inflamed rhumitoid arthritis. He then asked me to vacate the property and paid me nothing. Awful way to treat someone who works the fingers to the bone when they have nowhere go go. Not to mention non stop sexual harassment. The hotel is beautiful but the staff is horrible and rude. They didn't even want to supply me with gloves when picking up soiled garbage when I had cuts all over my hands from damaged cleaning equipment I had to use and said band aids are considered personal use and refused me medical supplies. It's a shame because he lost one hell of a good and great full worker who was nothing but kind hard working and polite throughout my stay working until 6 -7pm. He will probably have one of his side chic housekeeping women rebuttal this post but at least I'm not there anymore. Enter, stay or work at your own risk bit asked for pay daily so u don't get robbed Like I did as far as cash wise but at least I got a four day stay out of the deal so I'm grateful for that at least. Cash is still needed but I will manage I suppose.
