Texas Yurt Haus

The room was ok, smelled a little bit like plastic, which is different from the other yurts weve stayed at. Also, be aware that not only is it noisy because of the constant train horns near the yurt, but because it is so close to the city, looking out the skylight can only see some lights. The most disappointing thing is the constant train horns because it makes sleeping and relaxing extremely difficult. They offer earbuds but really defeats the purpose of this place. It was clean and bed comfy but definitely not romantic or worth the price.

We stayed here the last weekend of 2024. Had the whole property to ourselves it was great. The deer every morning and every evening came right up to our Yurt. Two take aways that kept it from being 5 stars. The train is super loud when it comes through, we both sleep pretty heavy so it only woke us a time or two. Our Yurt had 4 towels and 2 wash rags. My wife called on Saturday to ask for 2 more wash rags and was told that is all we get. So she asked how many we should have. The lady responded 4 towels 4 wash rags, when my wife told her we had only 2 wash rags she changed her story to that we only get 4 towels and 2 wash rags. We were staying 2 nights and we aren't interested in washing our face with a wash rag we washed our butts with the night before. I drove to the nearest dollar store and bought a pack of them. Not the end of the world, but frustrating.

My family and I stayed (or attempted to stay) at the Texas Yurt Haus #1 a couple of weeks ago. The company was really helpful and professional when we first were booking the yurt and we appreciated them letting us add our 2 young boys to the reservation without problems. When we arrived to the yurt we were pleased with the cleanliness and all that was provided inside the yurt. That night, we ventured out to Gruene for dinner and came back to get into bed. We had no idea it was so close to a train track and that the train would blare its horn, quite literally ALL night. My husband is no light sleeper by any means and it even kept him awake all night. There were ear plugs and a night mask provided but nothing was ever disclosed about the noise. There was a note on the bed disclosing the possibility of “friends” coming in and they provided a fitted sheet for over the quilt while you are away. I assumed the night eye mask was because of the neat dome on top but nothing about the ear plugs was mentioned in the online information or at the yurt. If we would have known, we definitely wouldn’t have spent the money we spent on booking the place, as cute as it is. Also, the grass around our yurt was knee high all around so I wasn’t comfortable with my boys exploring the area which we were looking forward to as we love the outdoors. My husband politely inquired about a refund but the owner said it was out of their hands and to each out to Airbnb. He did just that and they agreed to the refund but the owner refused. We hoped the owner would have done the right thing but that’s okay. We ended up renting a hotel room. It’s no wonder there are very few reviews anywhere on the internet about this place. I’m sure they don’t get approved or they get removed.

We had an great experience. One thing I recommend is to note about the train noise on the website especially for people that don't know the area that well. But other then the shock of the train we where able to over look that because of the ear plugs provided. We highly recommend this place if you like unique experiences! We will definitely be coming back! (We love the tiny little detail they did!)

Stayed at a beautiful place called Texas Yurt Haus. Location is perfect, we felt tucked in the woods away from noise, but if we needed to go anywhere or do anything it was a 5 minute drive to get to Gruene Hall and anywhere we needed to be. The yurt we stayed in was beautiful and very welcoming. The host was very helpful and responsive. My favorite part about the yurt, it had a clear dome on the very top. During our stay a thunderstorm rolled by, while we were laying in bed we got to see the storm and watch the sky move. We heard the rain drops, and got to see the lightning bolts. It was the coolest experience. Like our own natural noise machine. It was great!! This is such a peaceful space, a structure that blended well with its scenery. The yurt was very comfy, clean and amenities were new and worked well. If you’re looking for some quiet time and needing a new adventure, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely will be coming back with a group of friends!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Texas Yurt Haus! The yurts provide luxurious hotel amenities while the glass window at the top of the yurt still allows you to feel very connected to nature. This is the perfect way to get the nature experience that most seek from camping while still being able to take a nice shower, charge electronics, and most importantly sleep in a comfortable bed in the a/c. We can’t wait to go back and stay again, highly recommend!

Amazing location and the yurts were luxurious. This was our first time staying in a yurt and Texas Yurt Haus didn't disappoint. The kids were able to run around without us having to worry. We were very close to Gruene, so running to town for dinner was convenient. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun family environment that's close to everything.

My wife, dog, and I recently had an amazing and unique stay at Texas Yurt Haus! Such a cool property tucked away where you feel like you're secluded in nature, yet you're only five minutes from Gruene. Loved the large king bed, full bathroom set up (rain shower was great), and the WiFi. The biggest plus is that these yurts are fully air conditioned (heat as well) so that you can remain comfortable year-round, regardless of the current weather. We were able to relax and enjoyed coffee on our own porch looking out at the surrounding nature. There was also a fire pit and grills as well that we made great use of. Can't wait to come back out with a larger group and rent out all five of the yurts together! 10 out of 10, would highly recommend!
