Candlewood Suites Texas City by IHG

Upon entering the room there was a moldy wet smell coming from the carpet. I sprayed it very thoroughly with Microban before leaving for dinner. It did smell much better when we returned to the room. While unpacking to get settled for the night I encountered a very small German roach in the kitchenette sink. Then another one in the bathtub. We made sure to keep our luggage zipped as to not take any roaches with us. We didn't complain at that time because we were only staying one night. However, I was awakened around 5:55 with something crawling on my back within my pajama shirt. I went to the bathroom and pulled my shirt off and a larger roach fell out. I tried calling the front desk with the room's phone but it was not operating. Therefore, I looked up the number and used my cellphone. I was told my complaint was noted and management would be in at 8am. I spoke with management, H Patel, who offered me a discount instead of a full refund for the terror I encountered. Of course, I was hysterical as well as the other guests who shared the room. Naturally we did not, could not go back to sleep. Therefore, we were exhausted before departing for our cruise.

From the moment we walked in the staff was friendly and helpful. While the amenities at this location are a little light (no pool, daily maid service or complimentary forgotten travel items), the building is well maintained, the rooms are well appointed, the beds are comfortable, and the location is quiet. Overall, a very nice hotel for a weekend getaway.

I had had some issues with another hotel and Candlewood Suites was amazing. They had an available room and were able to accommodate me quickly. The staff was fantastic and very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again.

My family really enjoyed the peace and quiet at Candlewood in Texas City. We were greeted by a very kind Denny and her partner whose name I forgot. He was so kind and friendly. Denny shared a joke when we first came and apologized for no pool or breakfast. We did not mind at all. The hotel was so so clean and tje coffee was always available and found fresh. I am definitely returning and recommending it to everyone who will listen to me. I love you Candlewood! God bless all of you!

From my arrival to my departure the staff were nice and very helpful. The room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. It was an overall great experience. Entire property was well maintained and spotless.

Mr Patel is very kind and able to check us in early. We were so tired and hungry, he pointed us were to find the food place and when we came back from lunch he able to place us to the first room availability. We do appreciate his kindness. Would like to make a suggestion regarding the smell in the room, is not bad when I turned on the AC and turn on the vent. The cleaners need to open the windows while they’re cleaning the room this way the air can circulate well. Spray some air freshener

Everything was clean! Only thing negative are rooms smell musty, need to air them out. Front desk was very nice & funny. Easy to get to & close to good places to eat.

Check in was fast and I was able to make arrangements to leave my vehicle there while we went on a cruise. The room was clean and well maintained and I loved the Dove bathroom products . The little kitchen had everything we needed and the free coffee machine in the lobby area had freshly ground coffee and food items you could purchase to prepare in your room. We would definitely stay again.
