Red Roof Inn Madison, WI

Really one of my rougher stays in a while. It started when I arrived and guests were lingering in the very intimate lobby staring at me in my car. I got my key and was instructed that my room was in the other building. Okay, no big deal really. When I arrived in my room, I tried out my amenities. My room's heater did not work, and the television just said no signal on all inputs. It was pretty disappointing. I got over it and just went to bed, I just needed a place to crash. In the morning went to check out and there were more happenings around the property including an officer visit and people pacing near the building. Took a little while for an employee to help, and they didn't ask me how my stay was. They asked me for my room number and said I'm good. I'm not someone who likes to hassle over the counter and create an unpleasant situation. But - I do write honest google reviews and this visit was particularly rough. Placing a guest into a room with multiple amenities out of service is unacceptable even for a $70 stay. I was convinced that they had no interest in hearing how my stay was because they knew I probably had something negative to say.

Perhaps the worst part of my stay here was that my room absolutely REEKED of cigarette smoke. FOR SURE the strongest cigarette smell I have ever had in a hotel room. Our room was not thoroughly cleaned (there was a ketchup packet in the fridge, marks and stains on the walls) and the furniture and fixtures were in dire need of an upgrade (lamps above bed missing shade/plastic pieces, old/dirty looking radiator, EXTREMELY scratched up chair that looked like it was a cat's scratching post for months, if not longer). I'm not one to judge a place based on its patrons, but I will say that the majority of the guests here were pretty scary-looking. There was a cop stationed outside in the parking lot all night, which made me pretty apprehensive on the safety of this property and the people on it. This is a very cheap motel, but with the experience I had and the quality of the room, it should have been MUCH cheaper still. The man at the front desk was nice, but I would rather sleep in my car than return to this place.

Been a guest of this hotel for months relocating. Everyone is friendly and very much like a family! Sonny, Harry and Regina have been amazing when it comes to accommodating and professional. I couldn't have imagined coming here to relocate and having a family within the hotel. Absolutely fantastic people and business

I booked a room for two nights I cancelled well before my 24 hours they Expedia. On the day I had originally had reservation for Red roof in. Charged my card half the room. I called tgere they said they couldn't do anything not even look it up call at 8 am. I called the front desk looked everything up. Said manager wasn't there. I called back twice and they said now call after three I called after three and the girl yes hold she told manager you need to talk to him now he's been calling. He said he couldn't do anything that Expedia are liars and after he explains it to me I have no need to talk to him anymore. Really? Expedia said I did cancel appropriate and that red roof indeed charge me and they charged me the day I cancelled. I am still trying to get money. Do not I repeat stay there. Look at reviews. It's a dump. They are liars. A tornado have to be coming and they have only basement before I stay. Why lie why cheat. The manager is a tool and the staff cannot give you the straight answer Do not stay. Paul

Room was unclean.... the bath didn't work the shower didn't work...the sheets were stained.... asked for a comp on another room and they stated that all rooms were full on Martin Luther King day... lot appears quite empty... suspect that he was lying... I would recommend avoiding this hotel hell

The only good thing i can say is this motel dont charge dogs! Thats it! But I wished i read the reviews first before i checked in to the worst red roof so far iv ever been. First , the roaches! They gave us infested room! I got bit on my face first day! This is a big No No! Then stains on the towels, bedsheets that i dont know if its clean cuz it looks dirty! No extra towels u have to catch the housekeeper to get another stained looking dirty towels! Terrible! Then stains on the wall! Then very old microwave! Noisy ac! Then shower need fix! No telephone as in nothing. Then people staying there looks like just regular tenants! Noisy trucks outside our room! Its just dont look like a hotel! It look like a shelter! Cops even there one day for maybe a suspicious activity! The room is totally disgusting! It either needs a total renovation or shut down! I dont understand They make money why not invest some on proper maintenance! Shame on this kind of people running business like this! Look all the bad reviews years ago and the management seems never did one thing to solve the issue! Im staying right now at red roof kentucky its way much cleaner and even cheaper for what i payed there in madison!! Red roof Kentucky is one of the best. Murfeesboro tenesee red roof is also nice! Dont go red roof madison! Lots of roachessss and bugssss!!! Ewwww DIRTY!!

No towels no soap no pillowcases.stinky. 🤧. Cops knocking on motel door next building. Wonder what that was about. Made me apprehensive. Congratulations at least there was heat and hot water. Not your typical red roof inn motel. Corporate should revoke owners title.

The people who work here are amazing. The rooms are clean. They are very accommodating and attentive to anything that is needed. I highly recommend
