Oakwood Motel

This hotel is a mess..I will not recommend any one to go to this hotel...unless you like friends going back home with you... I found bugs in my bag when I left my stuff in the hotel... but they say we keep the room clean.... BUGS. SAVE YOUR MONEY FR....

Oakwood Motel is a affordable place to stay. It's within three miles from gas stations and shopping areas. Visit an ATM before arrival. Guests must pay with cash. Room 3 has a country feel and lighting level. It includes a modern television and a compact refrigerator. Made in another era, it has one thing this reviewer disliked: a mirror above the bed. Age can make it a safety hazard. Bathrooms are a reasonable size at Oakwood Lodge. They provide a collection of small towels and liquid soap. My shower worked. /Update on July 1, 2019/ Season rate changes and Summerfest brought a rate increase. "Take it, or leave it," is a common attitude here. I decided to stay. Room 6 was assigned. It is well lit and spacious. However, the thick curtains don't open. The shower, unfortunately, came from a war zone. Its control had one temperature range: cold. The sink worked. I used it to wash my hair.

The lady who runs it- her house is on the property... Older, Russian, comes off as "stern" but is the SWEETEST once you conversate w/her & so long as you are respectful! Its a motel on s. 27th so like alllllll the others, it's no Four Seasons, you get what you pay for! HOWEVER she keeps it up, it's clean, quiet, flat screen in every room, stand up shower and said lady is very accommodating if you have any requests or need anything! There are a few places for good food and even fun- Jim Dandys next door and Mooligans I beleieve it is called.. Also a few places deliver! All in all for what it is I give it 4/5 stars!

The women and the desk is super sweet would stay there just for her...The room costed $55 for the night & would be $245 for the week...The rooms are really small and out dated but if you want a quiet place without nosey staff this is it...Most in the area run $40 a night & have free WiFi which this one does not...But there is a fridge, microwave & decent cable...Cabin like feel...
