NillDecided to take a short 3-day getaway. We chose The Shallows Resort and we are so happy that we did. From the time we made the reservation till the time we left there everything went perfect. Lori the lady who took the reservation and welcomed us was great she recommended some wonderful places to have breakfast and dinner along with sights to see. The owner he was very sociable, very nice and for breakfast made the best cinnamon rolls I think we've ever had. The sunsets were beautiful, the fire pits were readily available. And to wake up in the morning with a cup of coffee comfortable chair and to listen to The Waves hit the shoreline was simply relaxing. We will definitely be going back to the shallows resort very soon. We highly highly recommend it.

NillThis place is great. Cinnamon rolls (warm!) and coffee/tea in the morning. An occasional cuddle from Charlie, the resident dog. Kayaks & canoes. Swimming pool & hot tub. Tennis/pickle ball/basketball/shuffle board court. Fire pits for the evening. Beautiful sunsets. The friendliest owner! Highly recommend. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

★★We have stayed at The Shallows for many years and have always enjoyed the resort and Bob and Liz’s hospitality. We stayed at The Shallows for three nights in October 2024, and the resort is still wonderful under the new owners. Unfortunately, staying at The Shallows now comes with rules – no daily housekeeping service, leave dirty towels outside our door, and receive new towels that are crawling with mosquitoes and bugs. Also, empty our own trash at the dumpster if we don’t put the garbage can outside the door by 10:00am, and make your own bed. This was supposed to be a nice get-away weekend where we don't have to worry about housekeeping.||While we understand that some things have changed since Covid, we don’t expect to pay $200 a night to clean our own room and remove dirty towels and garbage – not our idea of a vacation. We’ve stayed in many motels and hotels since the Covid pandemic and have always had daily housekeeping. Unfortunately we will not be staying at The Shallows again.||The “new rules” should be stated on the web site, and they are not – very misleading. We, and our friends who join us each summer, will not be returning to The Shallows.

★★★★★The grounds were well maintained and beautiful. The room was clean and the shower was HOT. The room chairs were a little uncomfortable but the outdoor balcony chairs were great. We spent a lot of our just watching the coastline. The weather was warm and sunny for September, so they kept the pool and hot tub open past the usual summer shutdown. The wifi was fast but unsecured. We plan to go back.

★★★★★We have vacationed at this resort for 21 straight years and always have a great time. The resort has great amenities from kayaks to bikes to a tennis court and 2 outside wood fire pits. The wood is cut and ready for burning daily. The owners are very accommodating. The resort is right on the Green Bay which is nice for swimming and kayaking. We also enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub.

★★★★We love The Shallows! We’ve stayed at other resorts throughout the 35 years we’ve been coming to Door County and nothing compares to this small family run resort on the bay. The new owners have done a tremendous job transitioning and continuing the wonderful aspects of this place. My only recommendation would be to upgrade some of the furnishings in the lower levels of the beach house. The sleeper sofa and chairs have been one very worn and uncomfortable over the past 3-5 years.

NillPerfect location! Quiet but yet close to towns. Comfortable rooms! New owners are amazing. Beautiful view of the sunset! Hot tub and pool were comfy! Two fire pits always stocked and ready for you. Outside grills!Charlie their puppy loves to come see you and "borrow" a loaf of bread from your bag when you've got your hands full... ha ha ha... Only one recommendation for 2024 is to offer a better breakfast option than rolls and coffee. Best of luck with many successful seasons!

★★★★★The minute we pulled into the resort property we were pleased. The potted flower pots and all the outdoor plants were such a great start to our experience. We checked in at the office and we were greeted with kindness and the most helpful lady (I’m terrible with names and I can’t remember her name but it started with the letter L, not the owner). |She suggested places to eat and visit in the area and also showed us a shore side room. They had a shore side room available for the three nights we were there so we upgraded and our room did not disappoint! The room was beautiful and had a beach feel. The beds were comfortable and all the linens were nice. This place had a nice home like feel and everyone was so nice. They have a resort mascot named Charlie, she was the sweetest dog. I loved having her around, I’m a huge dog lover so it really made me like the owners even more. We already booked next year and can’t wait!
