Vasco Homestay, located in the heart of Fort Kochi, Kerala, is a heritage property believed to be over 500 years old. It's reputed to have been the residence of the Portuguese navigator Vasco Da Gama, who passed away in 1524. The homestay offers two non-air-conditioned rooms, each featuring independent bathrooms, sit-outs, and Wi-Fi access.

Review for Mr. George's Historic Homestay in Fort Kochi:||I had an incredible stay at Mr. George's historic Homestay in Fort Kochi. Mr. George was not just a gracious host but also incredibly friendly, providing me with invaluable guidance on exploring the area. His vast knowledge about the local attractions and history added immense depth to my experience. The accommodation was a treasure trove of history, boasting a historic building with high ceilings, vintage styling, and even wooden flooring in some parts of the house. This added an extra layer of charm and authenticity to the stay. The prime location near major attractions made it even more appealing. My experience was delightful, and I am keen on returning for another stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable and authentic Fort Kochi experience, enriched by Mr. George's hospitality and the remarkable historical ambiance of the place!||Special experience: Peek out the window anytime and you'll see tourists photographing the house you're in😊

The Vasco house is located in Fort Kochi, the surrounding has beautiful old buildings and streets and many other historic attractions. The place itself once belongs to Vasco Da Gama, you can trace history and vintage in every corner. The rooms were spacious and a lot of wooden work is still intact, that makes this house more beautiful and vintage. The owner, George has successfully maintained the essence of the house, you will find a lot of books and many antiques in the hall and corridor. The room and kitchen had all the amenities. In the backyard, there was a beautiful small lush green garden. George is an interesting person, I learned a lot from him about the history of the Kochi and surroundings, He was always available for all my queries. I loved my stay, and loved to visit again soon I highly recommend the place.

Our stay at Vasco was short - only a day - but the experience of staying in this near-500-year-old building, alongside the wonderful service, made it one of the most outstanding memories of our journey. ||||Sitting in the window and looking out through ancient stained glass with a cup of coffee in the early morning is an experience that can't be compared. I highly recommend this for travelers looking for mid-level amenities and top-tier experience. When I return to Kochi in the future, I won't think of staying anywhere else.

Vasco House in Fort Kochi is a must-visit for anyone interested in history and architecture. The house is named after Vasco da Gama, the famous Portuguese explorer who discovered the sea route to India. This beautifully preserved building is not only one of the oldest Portuguese houses in India, but also served as a filming location for the Malayalam movie Big B. Don't miss the chance to see this stunning piece of history.

Amazing 500 year old building in super central location. My room was really large (it had two queen sized beds in it!) and had it's own private veranda and sitting room. It's an old, centrally located building- expect creaky doors, a somewhat basic bathroom (but clean and a really hot shower) and some street noise (dies down at night)- and you can't top it's charm and beauty. George and Sheba are wonderful hosts. Really liked having home cooked breakfast in the cafe downstairs. On my last day George took me on his scooter to see a temple elephant in a neighborhood garden- would have never found it by myself! Great advice on spice shopping and can arrange day trips as well. Excellent bookstore and bicycle tours just downstairs.
