Hotel Kalka Royal

Giving 3 stars that too because of the generous behaviour of some staff members. This is an overpriced 0 star hotel with no services, the food is overpriced because they call themselves as 4 star, no cleaning/ dusting done in 4 days of stay, cab was provided till helipad, paid cab was provided for shiv khori. The driver's behaviour was also very generous, the local people are mostly nice & helpful but the hotel needs to improve its services.

My experience with this Hotel is very good. It is very near to the Katra railway station (Walk distance of 5 Min) Also the rooms are fine as per price. Also Hotel Restaurant are very great. Food is very delicious & staff is also very good. But they didn't provided us the GST invoice which we requested during check out. Overall the hotel is very good.

The rooms are clean and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth check-in and offering helpful tips for our visit. The on-site restaurant served a decent variety of dishes, though breakfast could use a bit more variety. Overall, it’s a solid choice for those visiting Katra, combining comfort and accessibility. Would recommend! “A small incident” We had an early train at 5:50 AM, and while checking out, my friend accidentally left his shirt in the hotel room. In our rush to catch the train, we were surprised to see a hotel staff member running toward us to return the item we hadn’t even realized we’d forgotten. It was a great experience, thanks to the attentive staff.

Had a nice stay at the hotel. Walking access from railway station. Good service provider by Kakaram. He.was extremely polite and well spoken. On request they also extended the check out time. Overall a nice experience.

The rooms were clean but a bit small. The hotel is conveniently located directly in front of the railway station, and they offer complimentary pickup and drop-off services to Banganga from 8 AM to 8 PM. Main market is 2kms away and auto will charge around 150-200₹ one way. The staff is polite and very helpful. The kitchen operates 24/7; although we ordered food late at night, the menu had limited options at that hour. However, the food quality is good, and the portions are sufficient for two people.

Hotel Review: Kalka Royal Hotel, Katra I recently stayed at Kalka Royal Hotel in Katra and was extremely disappointed with my experience. Below are the key issues I encountered during my stay: False Claims About Meals: While booking, it was clearly mentioned that breakfast and dinner were included in the package. However, upon arrival, we were outright denied both meals at the reception. This was highly unprofessional and misleading. Inadequate Hot Water Facility: The geyser only works in the morning, making it impossible to have a warm shower in the evening. For a hotel in a pilgrimage destination like Katra, where guests often return after long treks, this is unacceptable. Poor Staff and Service: The staff were unhelpful and unresponsive to basic requests. The level of service was far below standard, with no sense of hospitality or customer care. Overpriced with Minimal Amenities: Despite charging a premium, the hotel offers nothing apart from the room itself. Basic amenities that are standard in hotels at this price range were entirely missing. Better and Cheaper Alternatives Available: There are numerous hotels in Katra that provide far better facilities and services at much lower prices. Staying here felt like a poor value for money. No Space for Movement: The hotel has no extra space for walking or relaxing within its premises, which makes the stay even more uncomfortable. Overpriced and Unsatisfactory Food: The food at the hotel is exorbitantly priced and does not justify the cost. The quality and taste were far from satisfactory. Verdict: I strongly advise avoiding Kalka Royal Hotel, Katra. There are far better options available that offer excellent services, better amenities, and greater value for money. This hotel failed to meet even the basic expectations of comfort and hospitality.

-Booked Mountain view, didn't get it. -Wi Fi didn't work at all. -Fan in the room made a lot of noise. -Pick n drop facility is good. -Early check in was allowed, good. -No help in first aid, when one have foot blisters. Had to walk around 600-700 meters with large blisters for med.
