Houseboat new light

Mr Raza is an absolute snakeoil salesman Talked to us at the airport about his boathouse ( first red flag imo). Boasting about how great the rooms cleanliness is and it's location. We were only staying at Dal lake for the night we arrived and thought for the sake of convenience we'll go see the boathouse. The bedroom had a broken door which wouldn't shut or lock properly , missing lightbulb but was okay in cleanliness. We thought it was manageable for 1 night stay however the bathroom... Is atrocious pieces of felt mat taped and fixed all over the floor covering the mess underneath a leaking toilet no hot water for shower . Holes in the walls cheaply covered by carpet. Bathroom absolutely let his boathouse down. Only good points, the food was great and the location it is in is also quiet and peaceful with great views. Our shikara driver was also a great help Conclusion, don't trust Mr sweet talking Raza his boathouse is a well below standard for the rate he's asking for. Do some research online and on YouTube you can find far far better boathouses on Dal lake for the same and even less price. Never go here 👍🏽

My experience with the New Light Boat House left much to be desired, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to others. The owner's behavior was highly disappointing and unprofessional. After confirming our reservation, we were blindsided by additional charges that were not initially disclosed. This unexpected expense put a damper on our entire experience. It seems there might be some dissatisfaction or negative experiences associated with Mr. Raza.

Worst experience ever! We had booked 2 rooms via tours and travel. Their service is pathetic to the core! The temperature was -9 and there was absolutely no room warmers. My wife was having a high fever and unable to breathe. We begged them to start the bukhara. The helper who was onboard said the manager has to come start the fire and he won’t do it. The manager never visited. We almost froze to death. We are lucky to be alive today. Please don’t visit this place! Your life doesn’t matter to them.

Very poor service.. They took us to another boat for breakfast. After breakfast, they are demanding for tip. First we didnt give tip since they were demanding. We waited for a boat to go to our house boat to check out for almost 30 min. And no boat came to pick up. Later when we asked, they are telling boat will come only if we give tip to the uncle ( who is like don of dal lake) . We were forced to give tip since our flight is in the afternoon. Once we gave tip, the boat came within 2 min to pick us. Literally they are looting people in the form of tip. Dont recommend it to anyone 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

We are from Ahmedabad gujarat we were stay Suprb loacation, Best service, delicious food, 24hours helpful, clean dining, bedroom, specially thanks to Altaf Ahmadtantray who is very helpfull ahe kindfull cartaker....must go with femily ahe couples it was very amazing to stay there...New light House boat..Thanks Again Altaf Ahmad tantray..

Service is totally pathetic. Owner rajabhai behavior was very rude. First of all we came to his houseboat then he started giving us packages for our whole tour. As we denied to do it he started asking for more money. We paid 4200 for one night stay similarly too this hotel rate were 1200. So stay away with this guy. If he knew that you're unknown to this place he will rip you off badly.
