HOTEL CRESCENT

Our experience with Hotel Crescent in Kashmir was absolutely terrible, and we believe the property is being used for fraudulent practices. We booked the hotel through Booking.com for around ₹14,500. Immediately after booking, we were contacted on WhatsApp by someone named Mr. Sameer, who insisted we pay ₹7,000 in advance via UPI, claiming that payments needed to be made directly to the hotel and that our credit card was only for verification. After the advance was sent, our booking on Booking.com was suddenly canceled, but Mr. Sameer reassured us that everything was fine and we could proceed with our stay. When my parents arrived at the hotel, they were met with appalling conditions: • The building was in a near-collapse state, with construction ongoing. • Basic amenities like electricity and heating were unreliable. • The overall environment was uncomfortable and unsafe. To make matters worse, the actual cost of the rooms turned out to be far lower than what we paid in advance. It became clear that this was a scam designed to exploit guests by taking advance payments and preventing them from leaving negative feedback due to the canceled booking on Booking.com. This hotel should not have high ratings or even be listed on platforms like Booking.com. It’s shocking that such a place is allowed to continue operations, scamming guests and providing an unacceptable standard of service. I urge potential travelers to be extremely cautious and avoid Hotel Crescent at all costs. Platforms like Booking.com should also take action to investigate such fraudulent practices and delist properties like this. This was a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience, and I hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake.

The purpose of staying at hotel was served here through spacious room, comfort, facilities, food, service and behaviour of owner. Hope tourists will be happy to engaze this hotel.

I wwas searching good Hotel in Sri Nagar. But after seen the reply of owner to his customer. I can imagine how worst hotel it is. Thank you for showing your reality by given rude reply to your esteemed customers.

It is a very pleasant stay here. Motahar, the owner, has a very friendly behavior. It is very near to Dalgate, only 4-5 min walking. We get a free Sikara ride during the entry and exit to hotel as hotel front road is very narrow and that can be used only for walking. Hotel rooms were clean. We have not taken the hotel food as we get a good Bengali restaurant around 10 min walking. Overall it is a very good stay.

We Stayed from 27th February to 1st March 2024 (3 Nights). Visited with my Family from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Location of the Hotel has Beautiful Stunning Views of Dal Lake, Mountains and Shikara Activities. The Rooms were Spacious and Very Clean. The Bed was Very Comfortable with Electric Blanket. Provided Free Room Heater and Electric Blanket. The Host Mr. Sameer is a Very Friendly, Polite and Helpful. Also we Booked entire Trip from Mr. Sameer, They Provided Best Reasonable Rates Ever for Sightseeing, Houseboat and Shikara Ride at Dal Lake.

We 5 friends had stayed here for two nights. The host is very hospitable. He helped us a lot with our stuff about eating, travelling in Srinagar. Rooms were great with water bottles; even had the tea and coffee. Although their taste could have been better but thats the brands taste. The location was good. It was like moving in an old city that you had been staying since many years.

We stayed here during the autumn season and we had an amazing time to say the least. Sam and his family is so cordial and warm,it felt like home. We loved waking up to the dal lake as our view every single day and the access to the main road is also very convinient. The best part is,as the location is Ghat 1 you can take a shikara ride or just walk it down to the mainland. Don’t forget to try the in-house coffee. It’s one of the best in entire Srinagar.☕️

A small hotel at Dal Gate 1 with all amenities. Very neat and clean. You can see the famous Dal lake right from your room. The hotel owner Mr. Sameer is a wonderful person. He took personal care of us which touched our heart. His uncle Mr. Mustaque was always there to look after us. We really enjoyed our 5 nights stay at their hotel.
