Floating Heaven Best Houseboat In Srinagar

A memorable experience for us at Floating Heaven houseboat. Located in Nigeen lake, the houseboat is in quiet, serene environment. This is a big advantage if you are looking for a peaceful environment since you won't get this in Dal Lake. Before going to Srinagar, we read mixed reviews of HouseBoats where many said that it is better to avoid HouseBoats as those are not well maintained and the good ones are really costly. After our experience, I'll say it is a must do when in Kashmir. At Floating Heaven houseboat, we found a clean, well maintained place at a decent price. The room had 2 beds with a heater as well, and an attached bathroom. All areas including dining, common seating and pantry were designed and maintained very well. The room does get pretty cold at night but the heater helps a bit and there are ample blankets for to feel warm. Hospitality is the diffentiating factor as that makes the experience remarkable. We had a very polite and welcoming host in Mr. Mushtaq. He gave us all information about Srinagar and places around so that we can plan by our choice. His family stays on island home right besides Houseboat and we had the pleasure of spending sometime with his sweet family who were equally welcoming and engaging. The helper, Mr. Yusuf made our stay more comfortable with well served breakfast and dinner. Mr. Mushtaq's family also prepared Sabudana khichdi for our fast that day, remarkable hospitality again. Food was delicious and we relished Kashmiri Nadru Yakhni (Lotus stem). Mr. Mushtaq arranged a car for our trip in Kashmir at reasonable rate. A humble and great guide & chauffeur, Mr. Irshad took us to Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam on different days in his car. He showed us all historical and tourist places on the way. With his engaging conversations and safe driving, we enjoyed the trip on the way. He gave us good suggestions on things to cover when we are at each of those place and how to go around. He really cared about giving us a great tourist experience and I would definitely recommend seeing Kashmir around with him. He even came early morning from Srinagar to pick us up from Pahalgam for Airport drop. Great experience overall and I highly recommend Mr. Mushtaq and Mr. Irshad if you want to experience the essence of Kashmir!

I had the pleasure of spending 3 nights on this houseboat at Nigeen Lake, and it was an unforgettable experience. Compared to the bustling Dal Lake, Nigeen offers a peaceful and less crowded location. The food was absolutely amazing, and the hospitality was top-notch. We were also served local dishes as requested by us night before and were arranged by ordering from outside all free of cost. They arranged almost everything for us, from airport pickup, shikara ride and cab for my Kasmir expedition, all at a great discounted price. I worked from the houseboat during my stay and was delighted to find reliable Wi-Fi, making it an excellent choice for a workation. The owner, Mushtaq, is a warm and friendly person whose passion for this family-run houseboat business, spanning over 100 years, shines through in every detail. Helper Gulzaar was also so attentive and addressing every request promptly. If you're looking for a relaxing and authentic Kashmiri houseboat experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this one!

If you are in srinagar, don't miss the chance to experience the houseboat stay. I booked this house boat based on reviews and found it similar. Hospitality is good, and food is homemade. There is no foul smell of lake or any issues as other people warned to avoid houseboat stay.

An Unforgetable Stay! I booked a night on Floating Heaven Houseboat as a solo female traveller. One reaches the houseboat via a 5 mins ride by the Shikara. The location of this houseboat is really serene and peaceful with an amazing view. There are no houseboats parked close to it, hence the view remains unobstructed from the room and privacy is fully maintained as well. The sunset and the sunrise are a must watch here. The lake is clean and the area is not crowded at all, unlike Dal Lake. I had found this listing via Google search and got the same houseboat as shown in the pictures. The wooden interiors are amazing, carvings are handmade as claimed by the owner. People seem to have a misconception about houseboats being dingy, infested with rats and cockroaches. Well, this one is really beautiful, well-lit, clean, well-maintained, has excellent heating arragements, with neat, tidy and spacious rooms including fresh linens. Dental kit, toiletaries, bathroom slippers, fresh towels, separate room slippers are provided. And there's no infestation of any sort. The bathroom was clean and smelling fresh. The water pressure was little low in the faucet (tub), which I did not find to be a major problem. Ensure you don't spill water on the bathroom floor. This place has a generator back-up and the caretaker knows when to switch it on. There was no inconvenience when the electricity used to go off. Hot water is available 24/7. The food here is really tasty. It is served hot without excessive oil. Their rotis were the softest I had in my entire Kashmir trip. At all other places, they would become hard once they cooled down. But here, they remained soft throughtout. I loved their rotis. The service provided by Gulzar bhai was very good. He is a cheerful, chatty caretaker. Also, the owner, Mushtaq ji, seemed knowledgable about the rates for various tourist activities and tourist attractions. It would be helpful to take his advise. This houseboat stay was a gift to myself and it's the best gift I have ever given. I have no words to describe my experience of sitting peacefully, while enjoying the natural beauty and the views from this houseboat. It left me speechless! Overall verdict - Excellent option for houseboat experience. Highly recommended if you can afford it!

We had a great experience at Floating heaven ,Nageen Lake. The boat is neat and clean, location is beautiful... Mr. Gulzar took good care of us throughout our stay. The food was homely, specially the breakfast with hot aloo Parathas were served. Special thanks to Mr. Mushtaq, the owner of this place for making our stay comfortable.

Mushatq is an exceptional host and Gulzar pampered our every needs. It is a lovely peaceful position on Lake Nigeen. Delicious home cooked vegetarian meals every night. I would thoroughly recommend this luxury houseboat and the sight seeing tours we did each day. Exceptional service, thank you both, best wishes Kitty
