Moti Mahal Hotel

Even though touted as a premium hotel, it was a sad experience for our family. We had to book here because there rooms were not available anywhere else. Rooms were ok but smelt moldy. Wallpapers are peeling. You could make out that it was low maintenance. Restaurants within the hotel are ok but barely. Only thing going for it is their location.

Moti mahal is an above average hotel, providing good rooms for tourists with cleanliness. However the breakfast provided by this hotel has very few options and mostly you'll end up having little to none. The other things in this restaurant are pretty good and the location is in the heart of the city.

The hotel is quite old and in serious need of renovation. We noticed water seepage on the walls, the toilet water was not clean, and there were signs of fungus and cockroaches in the living area. Although the rooms are spacious (we booked two suites for four adults and two kids), the overall condition of the rooms needs major improvement. On the plus side, the location is great, and the staff was responsive when we complained, offering to change our rooms promptly. The hospitality was good, and the complimentary breakfast was enjoyable. However, room maintenance is a priority that needs urgent attention.

I stayed at Moti Mahal for two days. Checked on Nov.24th 2024.Checked out on Nov 24th 2024. The following are my observation. 1. Staff were courteous. 2. TV did not function.The staff replaced the TV. This TV went off and on several times. When the screen was on, the image was blurred. Nothing was seen clearly. 3. The fridge did not work. Hence I asked for a replacement. 4. The kettle was a plastic one. Anything stored in plastic container is bad for health. 5. Dust on chairs and sofa. 6. Inadequate Power plug points. The mobile charger had to pressed hard to get power connection. 7. Bed sheets and pillow covers not washed properly.

A very old hotel in Mangalore and is a landmark in itself. Location is very central and convenient. We stayed there for our college reunion as it was a memorable place from college days. They are trying to maintain the place despite it being quite old but the rooms require some makeover. Staff is very nice and welcoming. Lovely South Indian spread at breakfast.

if your looking just for accomodation. this place works. the breakfast is decent. the restauraunt is a bit dated. hotel itself is dated but works well. staff are responsive. and the location is great.

We had booked convention hall for birthday party of my son.The hall was beautifuly arranged with round table for the guests .Food was delicious and tasty as well.Never to miss,to say about Mr.Kusumakar ,Banquet Incharge was really helpful.Thanks for his wonderful service he rendered to us during our function.

All in all the ambience and the hospitality is top notch. The staff is very supportive. Quick service. All in all a wonderful experience staying here.
