Hotel Periyar Canopy

It's the worst experience I've ever had.. The owner went out for his personal work on the day I booked the room.. It was a nightmare staying there. TV was not working. Heater was not working. No one was there to arrange any food for us and no nearby restaurants available. Breakfast was included in our booking and it wasn't served. While checking out the next day, when I complained about this he was asking me can I arrange you now (at 12 pm)? Pathetic.. If you really don't have any other options, as the least priority, one can try this cheap (but expensive) hotel..

Best hotel stay ever and best home made breakfast, lunch and dinner ever eaten ..... kind hearted Lovablefamily ever seen in thekkady.... We booked Periyar Canopy as it best fitted in our budget. The photos and reviews were also good. Looking at the tariff, we were not expecting what we experienced. ||After we reached there, Mr. Stanley and his family were very welcoming and cordial. We got a homely feeling as soon as we reached there. ||For the infrastructure of the hotel, it was a new construction. The rooms were spacious and had big balcony. The place was very clean including the washrooms. The hotel is situated in a society, so one should not expect a beautiful view.||The best part of the visit was "HOME MADE KERALITE FOOD" served with smile and love.||All in all nice place to stay, I recommend staying there if you visit Thekkady.

Good, comfortable place for short stays. The breakfast was home-made and was of good taste. Hosts were courteous and helpful. Since this is a homestay, I've been told dinner is not usually available. If you're in Thekkady, it's better to have dinner elsewhere and visit this place for a good relaxation. The spacious balcony with a good view is a cherry on the cake.

This property is more than a homestay and less than a hotel. The host Mr. Jacob is an excellent person and very courteous. Property is situated little inside but nice for a short term stay. We shouldn't expect a great view from the room as it's built in a dense colony. Rooms are nice, with a good balcony to sit and relax. We ordered for simple dinner with the host and he served the dinner in the dining area in his home which gave us a nice feelings. Also we wanted to leave early morning to Kovalam, so he packed our complimentary breakfast for the travel. Overall a good stay in Thekaddy.

My first time in Kerala. I'm glad I stayed at this place. The family,owner was very welcoming and very friendly. I loved the place,food. However the only con was the geaser didn't work for a while ,I had to bath with cold water. But it worked fine for my friends. Apart from that, I love to visit the place again

Very tasty home made keralian food. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the bathrooms are very clean. Their hospitality was the best. The homely ambience never let us feel that we were away from home. Mr and Mrs Stanley are really great persons in showing us the best of hospitality. Very nice stay at Periyar Canopy.

Wonderful experience, wonderful family, had a great time, such a beautifully maintained place, very clean and nicely designed, the host Mr Stanley was helpful throughout our stay there. With a balcony for added fun of enjoying breakfast with nature. So beautiful lights inside the room and carvings on pillars of the building. Great bargain and very homely atmosphere.
