Hotel Janata

Listen to me and the other reviews and DO NOT book this place, don’t be fooled by the price and location. There was something very creepy about this place. I looked at 3 rooms and they were all dirty, with other peoples hair and dead bugs. The rooms smelled and worst of all, the blankets smelled. I had a room without a window, and the hot water didn’t work. I booked 2 nights and left after one because I was so creeped out.

Please please do not book this hotel, due to an avoidable situation, we had to book a room just for 7-8 hours, the staircase is terrible, and there’s no lift, after reaching there, we see mice everywhere, beds have cockroaches & bugs on the sheets, blankets are dirty & room size is extremely small, AC is too noisy, and the fan doesn’t work either, worst part is bathroom are very unhygienic & also stink. You can literally see bugs & cockroaches on your bed. Extremely disappointed.

Good pressure in the shower. Good exhaust fan. AC and Fan both were provided. Good house keeping. Low prices . Location is close to all popular joints and sites in colaba. Rooms are tiny but ok for 2 people to sleep for the night . They could be made a little neater and presentable to get return customers.

The only good thing about this place is the location and nothing else. It's about 5 minutes walk from the Gate of India. ||||The hotel does not have its own entrance, you proceed through a shop front up 3 flights of stairs. The approach is very run down and in need of major repair work. Cables, dusty old wooden stairs, discarded rubbish bags and I have encountered rats. Heaven forbid if the place ever has a fire or emergency. It did not feel very safe. ||||If I could give this place 0 stars I would do. Rooms look nothing like what was advertised. They must have been taken 10 years ago. Ours had a hole in the wall, moldy black bathroom, and toilet seat broken and not fitted. ||||We had the room for 2 and it was disgusting. I have never seen anything like it before. We had to get the sheets changed as there were stains on them, the bathroom was awful and dirty. If we had seen the room before we paid we wouldn’t have stayed there. Twice rats ran across the (Inside!) stairs in front of us as we walked up to the hotel. Rubbish in corridors. NO hot water at all. I have nothing good to say. ||||Please please choose another hotel.

Just stay away if possible... Dingy rooms where you can hardly turn... There are no cots, just a concrete slab and a mattress on it... The sheets, covers are all full of stains... Very noisy, the entrance itself is pathetic, rat feaces, urine smell... The whole setup looked very shady...

Hotel Janata was the worst hotel were we ever went. According to booking it seems to be a nice place, but the only one which was good was the location. The room was covered with artificial grass giving a strong plastic smell the whole day long. In combination without a window even worst. The bathroom was dirty and the shower / water was not working. Finally, it was just possible to pay cash, which was not the case online. That all would be fine, if one would get the same information and impression from the announcement on booking. Due to our experience with Hotel Janata in contrast to the recommendation and pictures on booking we think that on should defenetly look for an alternative as we did.

It's a scam. Do not go there if you want to have a descent time in Mumbai. The room was booked with booking. They had already given away tge room telling us it is not their problem or mistake that the room was not available. They were playing completely crazy. They also insisted to pay their booking fee!!!! That's insane. Last but not least when I was not there they picked the phone from my female friend and they rated their own hotel with 5 stars. They also are treating their personnel with no dignity!!!! The owners are what we say unethical, toxic masculine trash !!!!! Believe me you do not want to deal with these kind of people because they do not connect at any rational level. So sad!

I can not add more than two. Strong humidity in the room visible on the wall. Bed probably clean but with spot of color. One room with electricity not finish on the bathroom 😞. Our room were not really prepare. We booked two with one big and only one normal and one small were available... but we were 5. So they have proposed 3 rooms. Without this sense of service it will have been only one star
