Shanol Residency

I had a wonderful stay at Shanol Residency. The room was quite spacious and well ventilated with a great view from the window. The room had all the basic amenities. The best part was the hospitality and the delicious food which made me feel like home. The host Yashaswi and her family is very sweet and humble. They took special care of me. Overall it was the best hospitality experience of my life and I highly recommend this place for anyone who’s planning to visit Gangtok.

I had a very nice stay at Shanol Residency. The room was quiet, clean and well equipped, just the WiFi was not always stable. The location is a bit out of the center, but you can get cheap shared taxis that bring you anywhere. The owner was very friendly and helpful with information. She also arranged a nice tour to Tsomgo Lake for a decent price. The breakfast and dinner were tasty. I would definitely stay here again when coming to Gangtok.

Had a lovely stay in Shanol Residency, 4 nights, including good breakfast. Had a warm welcome by the very friendly proprietor, the room was perfect: large, very good bed, comfy chairs, always hot water, quiet at night. Location is a 5 minute drive by taxi from MG Marg, for 30 rupee. Walking is ofcourse possible, but as everywhere in Gangtok it's hilly. If I ever visit Gangtok again (hope so...), I will ofcourse again stay at Shanol. Thanks for this stay!

I Stayed in Shanol Residency during my visit in Gangtok. The hotel is newly build so it’s neat and clean. Owners also lived there so it is secure as well. Food here is amazing and home cooked, must have. The owner is super helpful, she will make sure you will get everything in place. Rooms hygiene is not that good, which could be better. However transportation is a challenge from the hotel location, you will not get shared vehicles easily, you will have to ask your hotel only to hire a cab(that too will be personal taxi) which will cost you more. Overall experience with the hotel was good. i will give 8/10 to the hotel.

Me and my family had a great experience with Shanol Residency. The rooms were well furnished, well kept and clean. The hospitality of the staff is exceptional. The home made food brings added warmth to the stay. We recommend everyone to stay at this facility. The price is also reasonable. Thank you again for making our stay comfortable.

The Queen rooms which we stayed in, had plenty of natural light and a pleasant feel. Rooms were clean. Fixed menu Indian breakfast was good. Veg and non meals, based on order, were good too. Host is a pleasant and quiet but very capable lady. Her whole family is involved in running the place and stay in the upper floor, so are always available for support. They also arrange tours. The place is bit away and downhill from MG Road. However share taxis are easily available at Rs.30 to 50 per seat and one can reach MG Road in 5 mins

Highly recommended! The family is very very friendly and their service is amazing. They are very welcoming! Their food makes you feel you are at home! Rooms are very high in quality. The location is in a bit downtown. Other than this, everything is awesome! I'll definitely stay there again if I come to Gangtok in the future.
