★★★Really beautiful setting. Despite the mist and rain when I visited it really is a lovely place. The rooms are scattered throughout the grounds and are quiet and clean and spacious. With nice balconies. No air con or ceiling fans, although when I visited it wasn’t too hot so was fine. ||Please don’t eat here. The set meal was not good at all. It wasn’t revolting, but was tasteless. Vegetable soup lacked any salt or other discernible flavour. Duck dish greasy and the aubergine dish was OK but not tasty. Veg stew was basically the soup unblended. And it was not cheap. The second day I bought food while I was out and ate on the balcony. A much better idea!!!||The staff could not have been more helpful of friendly. I’d definitely recommend staying here, but eat elsewhere!

NillAn Exceptional Stay Surrounded by Nature” Windermere Estate is a wonderful place, located right in the middle of beautiful natural surroundings. The rooms are perfectly situated, giving you the feeling of being truly connected to the greenery and peace around you. The service is amazing—one person in our group forgot an iPhone battery and charger, and they kindly sent it to our next hotel by courier. The food is also very tasty, making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for peace, nature, and a chance to explore tea and spice plantations, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

★★★★★We loved the relaxing atmosphere of the property, set in a very well kept garden. The welcoming and the staff politeness made us feel well looked after, especially in the afternoon when coffee and cakes prepared on the spot were served in the gazebo. The following afternoon guided walk through the cardamom plantation was really worth while. The room was spacious and had it's own character, just like you see in photos. No television but very good wi-fi connection, there is a fix menu for the meal with plenty of choice, it was delicious! We wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the swimming pool and the bird watching.

NillThis property is for people who want to experience nature, scenic views, and peace with silence. It has stunning view point well designed and crafted over rock. Cottages are surrounded with beautiful garden. Cottages all look very pretty and cute. Swimming pool is not heat regulated. But I enjoyed the Swimming pool very much. Food served here is absolutely delicious. They have set menu. Very nicely set menu indeed. Highlight of the property is trekking which we experienced inside cardamom Plantation. Overall a very unique and different kind of stay. Highly recommended. Not recommended for kids. 🙂 Highly recommend for couples and people who want a break from busy city life. Special mention to Mr Jacob. He upgraded our room and took care of our needs.

★★★★★The Windermere estate is very comfortable, lovely room with balcony overlooking the valley. Afternoon tea was well worth going to and the chef went to a lot of trouble to provide a lovely experience. The on site naturalist was excellent, leading a walk through the cardamom plantation in the afternoon and a bird watching walk early morning.

★★★Our room was lovely and the gardens are beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the food. You get a set menu, which is quite mediocre compared with everywhere else we have eaten in Kerala. The beef was quite tough and gristly and we were served an apple crumble that had almost no apple and very dry crumble. Disappointing.

★★★★★I had hesitated to book this hotel as the reviews are somewhat mixed but , in the end, it was one of the most memorable places of our 3.5 week trip to India. The entire atmosphere is very relaxing. You are surrounded by nature, with the mountains, tea and cardamom plantations all around the property. Our room was simple and spacious, evoking the atmosphere of the old plantation. I took the early morning bird watching walk and my husband and I did the afternoon plantation walk as well. Both were excellent, led by their very charming and informative in house naturalist. The set meals were very enjoyable too. I loved the Munnar area and the Windemere Estate enhanced the experience.
