Sinclairs Retreat Ooty

One big plus about this hotel is its location, beautifully perched overlooking the city of Ooty.|You know sometimes pictures don’t tell you the real story. Nothing the picture depicts are in good condition. Very badly maintained premise.|The staff were absolutely ignorant of their clients. They were totally focused on pleasing their bosses and not their clients who are actually the boss of their bosses.|Basic courtesy of greetings were ignored. There was stench just outside the room. Restaurant had “not available “ on 80% of the menu. And pricey. |Breakfast had a good spread and good quality food. But the wait staff ruined the experience by being utterly incompetent and unable to tend to their clients.|No hot water available on a cold day.|Despite repeated requests to fix the stench or hot water. All we got were incense sticks burning to suppress the stench.|In short do not recommend this hotel at all. |The hotel needs a total upkeep and trained staff.|Even at departure the staff was busy pleasing a hotel manager than wishing us goodbye. |We remained very polite all through our stay despite total lack of communication and basic hospitality qualities.||Stay away from this hotel

We stayed here for 3 nights in the premier valley view room and overall this was a beautiful experience. Booking was a breeze using their toll free number and the approach road is good enough for sedans and small hatchbacks , as well as larger cars upto travellers/small buses. Main city is barely 10 min downhill for quick bakery runs, if required . Internet was good enough for a staycation, The breakfast spread is superb, but more importantly very tasty. The team attends to all the guests as well. Room service is prompt and in room amenities are good ! The view from the lawn is just superb! Overall it oozes of the white-glove, concierge style premium stays of days bygone. We will keep coming back here!

The stay at Sinclairs Ooty has been nothing less than perfection. The view of the hotel is amazing. Very few hotels in India will have a view like this. Not to forget the food by Chef Tarak , it was too good. All the customization regarding the food was taken care off. We had come for a conference and Mr. Samrat and Mr. Asim made sure the event went smoothly. Rather every staff at the hotel Sahil, Muskaan, Mansiha, Aadit, aditya, Kiran, abhishek and others were very helpful.

This was a nice experience staying in this hotel for last 4days. Specially food quality and all staff behavior are very supportive and helpful. Chef Mr. Rajesh Kumar along with his all team members like Sajal Kiran sambit are excellent in their services. Overall experience are very nice.

Decent property with good food and amazing views. The hospitality of Abhishek and Khan in the restaurant was praise worthy. |The rooms can be better maintained. Overall, good property for a getaway. Very close to tea and chocolate factory.

I visited the resort in mid May with a lot of expectations, however disappointed with the room quality, room amenities and poor bathroom space and hygiene against the tariff being charged. The room was small and the bathroom was tiny, Limited in-dining food menu, however breakfast was good. Hotels need to revamp. The location was amazing, absolutely a pleasure to live in, the hotel's compound and garden were well maintained and there was a breathtaking view of the sky, Ooty city and surrounding Nilagiri hills.

This Hotel Probably provides the best view of ooty city. It is location on a hill towards Tea Factory. The Rooms are located with nice views from windows. The room service is very good. The food is tasty. The Games Arena provides few options to play with kids. Some of the day items there would need replacement. The property is old and hence there is a raw smell in the corridors but it's okay it doesn't interfere in the rooms which are well maintained and serviced well. The Reception persons are very helpful and takes care of your convenience. The Access road from Tea Factory is not in good shape and need repairs.

Looked like it was build as the best in ooty but sadly due to lack of maintenance by current management, it is loosing its charm. Decent breakfast spread No alacarte options for lunch and dinner Staircase smelling of old damp wood, need some treatment/ maintenance Spa facility present only on paper. Play / gym area is nice but require a person to manage. Garden is locked . Fountain is too frothy from the chemicals added Lawn not mowed since long. Bar ambience is awesome, cocktail quality can improve. Parking is too tight but is manageable View is the only thing that is holding the place together.
