Alkananda Resort

You can get a very beautiful view of the surrounding nature from the premise of this particular resort. The hotel has a swimming pool. The conditions of the resort rooms were satisfactory and good. The quality of the food provided was average. the number of the resort staff members were moderate and they were very professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend this resort for anyone who would like to get a proper tour of kalimpong.

This is the BEST place I've stayed in Kalimpong. Like most of the good hotels this resort is located away from the hustle of the immensely populated Kalimpong town.....so one can live peacefully and enjoy the serene nature. The resort offers a very beautiful and well maintained garden ideal for a little stroll in the early morning and dusk. The rooms have geysers and televisions too. We stayed for two nights here and worth mentioning is the hospitality we got from Ms Sanjogita mam and Bikram. They were very friendly and immensely helpful and Bikram himself made all the arrangements for our sightseeing trip for which we are immensely grateful. And here's the best part. Why should one stay at this resort!! The reason being The View that this resort offers..... ohh what a Great View of Kanchendzongha we got..... !!! It can be seen from the 1st floor balcony and not only from the balcony on the second floor but also from the rooms.....I laid down on my bed and went on slurping the majestic beauty for hours from 4:30 in the morning till 9 am. After that we went out on our sightseeing trip. If we could see the Kanchendzongha in the monsoons I'm sure in other seasons it can be seen as well.... Kalimpong was not in our trip plan but I am glad we went there and found this heavenly place. We are surely going to stay here for our next trip to Kalimpong. Room Tips : If possible go for the rooms on the second floor, it's absolutely fabulous.

We visited Mrs. Subbah's place on 6th June. It was really home away from our home in Kolkata. The morning walks, the night view from the balcony of the top floor room were awesome. And the icing on the cake was Bikram,caretaker cum cook. Very humble ever-smiling person providing warm water for the kid even at 11:00pm. His momos will be missed forever. Simple cuisine of high quality. Regular change of bed-linen and clean hygienic washrooms were appreciated. Bikram also arranges for vehicles for sightseeing which was of immense help. According to him, Kanchenjunga can be seen right from the balcony. But we missed it in clouds. Overall this is really the place to stay at Kalimpong.Once again kudos to Mrs. Subbah( the ladies in our group were very pleased with her). Thank you, Madam. Hope to visit again. It was nice chatting with you.

I visited Kalimpong with my family last month from 17th to 19th June. We stayed at Alkananda Resort and It was a great experience as we had a very nice room with excellent views and very cordial behaviour from Ms Sanjogita Subba and Bikram. The resort is neat and clean with excellent quality of foods. Though, it is a bit costly but we really enjoyed a lot and felt like home out of home. The room on third floor is the best along with the beautiful lobby and garden in front of the resort. It was my second visit in this resort after April 2012 and If I have the opportunity to visit Kalimpong again I will definitely prefer to stay here.

Awesome location. Little far than main market so not crowded. Silence is refreshing and enjoyable. If weather is clear then can see kanchanjungha from your room. Garden is beautiful and well maintained and also specious. Food is also good and location wise reasonable. One thing I must say there are many pictures in google where we can find swimming pool but actually there is no swimming pool in this hotel.

Alkananda Resort is a must stay for your visit to Kalimpong. The view from the balcony is mesmerizing and that is living int he lap of Nature. the food and the hospitality is unquestionable. The majestic Kanchenjunga can be viewed while enjoying hot black tea at the room front. Rooms are cozy with modern facilities. Transport for the trip can be arranged from the resort. Bit interior from the market place makes it peace haven for the tourists. I enjoyed with my family specially my stay at the resort.

Long back in May 2002 I was there with family for three nights. We got a cordial reception by Mrs. Sanjogita Subba, the owner of the then 'Alakananda Guest House' now named as 'Resort'. From that point of time we always saw her taking care of everything for the Guests with the help of her few persons with smiling face. Position of the resort is awesome to view the mountains. The room was specious, clean & well maintained. We had all food fresh & tasty cooked very homely. The day before we left we met Mr. Subba and came closer to them. We are happy to be there again on 25th of this month to stay one night. ||Note:- Some shots of Bengali movie 'Bakso Badal' of 1970 was taken in this House.

Good basic amenities like warm water, clean bed sheets, homely food,room services was good.Location is not nearby Kalimpong market. In one of our room number 104 toilet was not well maintained. There is no facility of passing air from toilet.
