Holiday Inn Express Anchorage by IHG

The front desk staff that checked me in was absolutely fabulous. So friendly! My room was very comfortable and clean. I was only there for a few hours to get some sleep. The room was very quiet. I think that the price was quite high, but this might be normal for Anchorage. It was worth it though to relax and get some sleep as I was ill. Close to the airport and the shuttle was quick and on time. Be aware of any scam phone calls you might get from "corporate" and immediately report them to the front desk.

Problem 1. The receptionist who “helped” us wasn’t able to add my card to the room, so she charged my wife’s card that was already on the room, ok fine, but she was bothered that the transaction didn’t go through immediately so she charged her card ELEVEN MORE TIMES for different prices until 9 pm that night. The next morning my wife talked to the front desk, different receptionist fixed the problem and apologized but apparently the first woman didn’t even confirm that we arrived. Problem 2. The bathtub faucet was leaking HOT HOT water, leaving a rust stain as shown in the picture and the first time I turned on the water it was brown. The tub also does not hold water well so my son’s bath was cut short. Problem 3. There were a few white stains in the carpet that came up somewhat easily when I dug my shoe in…overall the carpet definitely could’ve been vacuumed and scrubbed better. Problem 4. We paid $180 for one night in this room. Absolutely not worth the money when there are these many issues. I’ll stop here but there were other minor, negative things as well.

Staff was helpful, check-in was easy, room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was convenient. There were no towels in the pool area, so used our room towels...probably could have asked for more if we needed it. Overall, this was a good place to stay. I have stayed here in the past and have had good experiences each time.

It was a pleasurable stay and was well worth my choice, for cost Staff efficiency and comfort. Location from Airport, hotel shuttle was easy, to and from airport. Would definitely recommend this hotel. They accommodated all my needs.

The staff at this property was wonderful and I feel bad writing a bad review . This property seemed to be missing a manager or just maybe some suport from Holiday Inn , I don’t know …. This property needs to be remodeled …it also was dirty . The bathroom ceiling was bubbled and falling apart and the grout lines were dark brown. I did not want to take my socks off to walk on the carpet in the room . I’m not sure this property has been touched since it was built .. of course you can blame the staff for cleanliness but overall this property needs a remodel …

My kids and I have stayed here many times before. The pool and breakfast are usually pretty good, it’s been 2 years since be I’ve stayed. The pool was dirty with a brown film around the entire pool at the water line. The rooms were dirty and the bathrooms in both rooms I experienced were filthy. I cleaned them myself and brought the dirty cloth to the desk. No manager ever contacted me as requested. I won’t stay here again.

This hotel is a convenient location to the airport and dining options. My room was spacious and very comfortable. The beds were a firm but still comfortable softness with great bedding. There was firm and squishy pillows on both beds. In Anchorage, it can be difficult to have a microwave, mini fridge and a free breakfast, so the value of my room was perfect. I had to extend my stay an extra night, so the front desk made it quick and easy to stay in the same room.

Room was clean. Staff were nice. Room was quiet. A few things I noticed that need to be taken care of but nothing that severely detracts from how my stay was. The shower needs a cartridge changed out. The breakfast selection was good but the quality of it was lacking as not all of it was fresh, namely the eggs, sausage, and breads. I will stay here again and sleep well knowing I am in a clean room. I will not plan on eating the breakfast that is included.
