Courtyard San Diego Downtown

This hotel is a beautiful historic building in downtown San Diego. The architecture, particularly in the lobby, is stunning! The high ceilings throughout were nice. We stayed one night after a cruise with our family. The service was great. One thing to note - the parking options are limited unless you are willing to pay $65/day for valet parking, so maybe include that in your vacation budget.

We loved it. It is one of the most interesting interior designs of a hotel that i have seen in a long while (checkout the pictures and videos). Taking the old style bank and converting it to hotel was done by someone who knows what they are doing.. what a delightful setup.. now the rooms are spacious and nicely designed but they had a distinct odor coming from the carpets. Not a foul smell, but definitely powerful enough to make you cringe a little.. the showers though nice, it is definitely not toddler friendly.. the location is great if you wanna enjoy downtown San Diego.. the staff are decent, but like everything in San Diego, you can feel that slight undertone of hostility and short temper.. but nothing to your face offensive.. I'd stay in there again.. 👍

Checked in, TV doesn’t work, staff wont try to fix until tomorrow at the earliest. $45/day for parking a block away. Update Day 2: TV streaming still not fixed, staff now say won’t be addressed for another week, well past our checkout. Also found black looking mold in the bathroom! Changing review to one star for whatever it’s worth, would not recommend

We’ve had a pleasant stay at the hotel, best breakfast in my life! All staff are super lovely and friendly. Overall cleanliness is good - but if you’re allergic to dust don’t forget your antihistamine Public transportation is close by (1 min walk) and easy to use.. Have to mention: overall a lot of homeless people live around the area, but they are harmless.

This is a great hotel inside a historic building with lots of characters. Hotel is located pretty much at the end of Gaslamp District on Broadway and 6th Avenue. Many restaurants and shops within the 4-5 blocks towards Gaslamp District direction. Trams/City Rails are also one block away so quite convenient. However like many reviews here indicated, there is absolutely no problem with the hotel but the location is challenging with lots of homeless people wandering around and very often right in front of your face. You simply cannot avoid running into them. I got stopped by a couple homeless people for money and drink inside the 7-11 store next to hotel the first night I came in, and it wasn't plesant. Fortunately Courtyard set up a stand with parking attendants outside main entrance monitoring the in-and-out foot traffic which makes things much better.||Having said, once you are inside the hotel, it is a totally different world. Quiet and filled with beautiful architectural details. Got upgraded to a nice suite with a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom space, nicely decorated with cleanline furnishing. Spent several days in this suite and couldn't be happier with the space.||Overall a happy stay at the Courtyard San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp. The only downside is room clearning is very sporadic. Cleaning ladies only came in two days out of my 5-day stay depsite I indicated daily service preferred but it is not a big deal.

The hotel was nice with an antique vibe. They had clean rooms, friendly staff, and a nice workout facility. The hotel is walking distance to a lot of downtown and waterfront. However the hotel does not have parking. Valet parking was an extremely $58 per night.

A good job has been done in converting a former bank HQ into a good hotel. Our room was large and comfortable. A/C quite noisy - curtains can’t be fully closed as they cheaped out on material - bathroom looks good but you look closer there is poor workmanship.

We had an amazing time during our stay in San Diego, at the Courtyard! Tony at the Front Desk was super helpful the entire stay. Amazing valet staff. Aziz in particular from LAZ Parking was extremely helpful, alert and hospitable. Always greeted our small family with a smile and energy! Martin, the manager was super helpful as well. He gave us suggestions on dessert spots in the area, and we’ve never had Crepes as good as his suggested spot. Amazing, prompt and quick service at Courtyard, especially on the valet side.
