NillThe Horton Grand Hotel is a great place to stay, offering everything you need for a comfortable visit. The suite was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a fireplace that stays on, air conditioning, and a minibar. The hotel maintains its charm and delivers on its promise of a quality stay. The location is excellent—just 500 meters from the Convention Center, making it an easy 5-minute walk. One thing to consider is that parking is valet-only and costs around $60 per night. Additionally, during my stay, only one elevator was working, and it was a bit slow, but aside from that, the hotel met expectations and provided a pleasant experience overall. An extra point for having Nespresso Coffee machine

NillMy girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Horton Grand Hotel in San Diego, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing, especially considering the price we paid for the valentine's weekend. We booked the best room with a full balcony seating, based on the photos and descriptions provided on their website. However, when we arrived, we found the room in poor condition. There was smelly food left in the fridge, a giant cobweb in the corner, and a tiny door to the outside that was barely big enough for one person to be outside. The room looked nothing like what was advertised online, which was incredibly misleading. The cob web had to have been there and complained about before - it was huge the picture doesn't even capture it on with the white walls. After complaining, we were moved to another room, but it only got worse. The new room had a much smaller balcony than the one we initially booked and paid for, even though the staff said they'd upgrade the room due to the immediate inconveniences noted in the original room. Not only was it not the full balcony we were promised, but the room itself was downgraded, and we were not compensated for the difference in pricing between the two rooms. Overall, our stay was incredibly disappointing. It was advertised as vintage and charming, but it was really just old and dirty. The online photography for each room package is deceiving and does not reflect the reality of what you'll get. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking to experience San Diego.

★★This hotel is tired and dated. Rooms are dark, carpets stained and the linen and pillows on the bed are poor. Basics like an effective hairdryer, water and decent coffee in the room/hotel are not there. The entrance looks grand but that’s as good as it gets. The hotel receptionist was unfriendly and unable to engage with hotel guests. The valet was cheerful and always giving us helpful tips. I find the reviews for this hotel quite unbelievable in terms of how positive they appear to be. We loved San Diego but wished we had booked somewhere else to stay.

NillAbsolutely smitten with my stay at the Horton Grand Hotel! The room was incredibly spacious and boasted an actual fireplace—a delightful touch. The location is simply perfect, just a stone’s throw away from a plethora of fine dining restaurants, bars, and clubs. The Hotel and location are both safe and immaculate. If you need any information or recommendations, Victor Ivy is your man. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

NillThis Horton Grand Hotel is a great place to lay your head. The bed was just right and the pillows were just the right amount of soft with structure. Their bar is tops when it comes to service, hospitality and that speakeasy feel mixed with class. The drinks were great as well. The historic architecture is a huge bonus. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the draft from the doors on the balcony and there was a wedding started an hour and a half early outside my balcony. The hotel did tell me about it.

★★★★★We had a company holiday party in their ballroom and had a great time. The food was so good. It was a buffet however the food tasted freshly cooked. The fish was amazing and the steak was juicy and not over cooked. We've had parties at local casinos and golf courses in the past and this place fit us best. The staff was friendly, relaxed and accofriendly, We many of us stayed at the hotel over night. Although the rooms are a bit small, they are cute and cozy. I will go back just for a stay cation. Thanks to Rob, Victor and all the staff.

NillI would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego for the weekend or a few days, especially if you're looking for something more unique than the typical IHG or Marriott experience. I spent the weekend with three friends in a double queen room, and we absolutely loved this hidden gem. The building itself is stunning and has incredible historic charm. The staff was fantastic and so friendly. The courtyard is beautiful, featuring large trees and warm lighting—it's the perfect place to relax or hang out. Every corner of the hotel felt like a photo op. Its French-style architecture perfectly complements the Gaslamp District. Our room was larger than expected, complete with a real fireplace and a lovely balcony that overlooked the open courtyard. My only minor note is that the bathroom and plumbing could use some updates. Depending on the time of day, the water pressure and temperature can be a bit inconsistent, but honestly, for the value of this hotel, it’s easy to overlook and wasn't a big deal. The hotel is within walking distance to so many restaurants and activities. A major plus: upon check-in, they provide two drink tickets for their restaurant. Will be staying here again %10000000.

NillOur stay at the Orton Hotel was excellent, thanks in large part to the outstanding service provided by the entire staff and especially Victor, the one at the concierge desk in front of the desk . From the start, he impressed us with his efficiency, professionalism, and deep knowledge of San Diego. He gave us top-notch recommendations on where to walk, the best places to eat, and the most enjoyable activities to try, all tailored perfectly to our interests. His guidance truly enhanced our experience and made our visit to the city even more special.
