Candlewood Suites San Diego by IHG

The hotel was clean and the view was beautiful. Plenty of parking, even a patio out front to enjoy. Close to stores & restaurants. Old Town, Pacific Beach & airport were just a short ride away. Even though we had to wait to check-in, the staff was very kind & professional. The room was clean & very spacious with all the amenities. Would DEFINITELY stay here again & recommend.

I truly enjoyed staying at this hotel. My husband is in San Diego for work and I came to spend a couple of weeks with him. |The location is everything. Nothing was more than a 20 minute drive away. The room was spacious, almost like a little mini apartment with a kitchenette and separate living room, and stocked with everything you could need. You did have to go to the front desk for things like toilet paper, paper towels, Tissues, and to change out your towels. That was no big deal though. There was always someone at the front desk happy to give you whatever you needed. |Housekeeping came once a week to do a thorough cleaning and they did a GREAT job. I was really happy with that. |The entire staff was wonderful. Always there with a smile and a greeting, and to help you with whatever you needed. |The self serve 24 hour coffee machine was a huge bonus, along with the free washer and dryers that were available to use. All in all a wonderful stay.

Welcome was great. The staff is very friendly, helpful, professional, and caring. The room was clean and I appreciated the room upgrade. The shower pressure was very good. The bed was very comfortable. The television had an abundance of channels and I only had one issue. Unfortunately the walls are very very thin. You can readily hear the guests next door speaking in a normal tone of voice. As well as crying babies if they are present.

My sister and I stayed at Candlewood Suites San Diego for a long weekend trip. It was absolutely perfect! Everyone was very friendly, the room was clean and the location was only 10 minutes away from all the places we wanted to go. We would both highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area. We booked it because there was a full kitchen but there were so many other amenities we didn't even expect! Definitely a 10 out of 10!

This hotel was easy to stay at. Large rooms with lots of blankets and pillows, large TVs, good wifi. lacked friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Need to update amenities such as fresh coffee and snack selection. Also, doors to room from elevator was not secured with key entry. This hotel has a lot of potential. Needs more of the IHG touch. Great restaurant close by called Crust.

I love IHG properties and this hotel was different. Late night staff was not too friendly and welcoming. I was the only person there but still didn't feel important. It seemed like i was bothering her from her duties at the time. Parking was limited and parking lot was not too well light. I do lots of events during the day and just need a safe place to sleep. I am sure this is a great place for others, but it was not for us. I am sorry for this review, but it took me this long to feel comfortable to write it.

This property was not up to the usual Candlewood experience. The stay was comfortable with no problems. The desk staff were not very knowledgeable - did not know about public transport or how to pay for example. The property is distant from shops restaurants etc. No shuttle to anywhere.

Positive: It is off the main street but close to freeway entrances. The staff were incredible, so helpful and very friendly. The gym was well equipped and clean. We were able to do our laundry for free. The room had a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, stove! Negative: Paying for parking.
