This hotel was being renovated, so how it will turn out, I can't say. The room was clean and spare. There was only one elevator and the parking requires you to have your room card to get in and out of the lot. At night the lighting was insufficient . Maybe they'll change that. I experienced very little bugging. The experience was justified by the cost. Best priced hotel in San Diego! Eventually, they may realize what a gem of a location it is. The pool sits high above the adjoining river basin. If the city would do some work in making the "wildlife" habitat cleaner and more accessible, I can see the hotel becoming a desirable place to say. Given it's surroundings, it may turn into a chic boutique. In the meantime, the prices are just right if you're not looking for guest services, just shelter.

To be honest in all my life I have never been such disgusted with a hotel. This was by far the worst hotel I have been in. My fiance and I and our kids were in this room, room 419non the third floor. There was mold in the sink used water on the sink coffee splatter on the wall the beds were broken the outlets different work the phone didn’t work. Honestly it looked like the bed had bed bugs. The walls were so dirty people were smoking weed in and it was non smoking areas in the room. It put me and my family in harm. The service lately was nice and did help a little but I felt like she could have done more to help us. It’s cheap to stay at but boys not worth it. My family had to find a new hotel last minute we didn’t even stay because it was that bad. This place honestly needs to be shut down it was that bad. And other people were complaining about the smell in the room.

First off the room stinks horribly.. the beds sunk in.. it smells like black mold so bad in the bathroom I couldn't stand to even shower or use the restroom there, I had to keep the door closed. My kids couldn't swim because the pool was so disgusting I was scared they would get sick. I'm pretty sure they use the same bedding a few times before changing it.. mine had stains and the bed frame was disgusting. Even the box of tissues was tainted.. tried to blow my nose with one and almost threw up from the smell of the tissues. Towels seemed dirty... The list goes on... I wouldn't recommend ever taking your family there. If you're a single homeless drug addict looking for a warm place to smoke your dope, or a prostitute looking for a cheap place to work from then you found the perfect spot.

Positive: The location is close to all of the retail and food outlets in Mission Valley and the highway can take you anywhere east or west or downtown within a short time. (Access..) It's also a quiet area to sleep at night. Parking is "gated" and secure. Negative: No microwave in the rooms. They have them at midpoints on the second floor...

This motel should be burned to the ground so they can start over. They wasn't enough parking, the sheets were dirty, the mattress was very uncomfortable, there was damage/dents in the walls, the main door didn't close all the way, the furniture looked like it had been chewed on for over 20yrs. In short, it was disgusting and will only worn people to stay away. We canceled our reservation and went to another motel. I would rate it lower, but they don't have negative stars.

This hotel is dog friendly. Of course it's not going to be perfect. In fact, I expect it to be dirty with clawmarks on the ground and not the fanciest bedding or walls. The parking lot has a secure entry and exit (need a key card to do so, so park on the main street before trying to check in). The water pressure is good. The staff was kind. However, the hotel needs SERIOUSLY new management. We walked up to our room, and there was a plunger by the front door, duct tape barely holding the ac together, and even though it's a non smoking facility, I noticed that every air conditioner had a cigarette butt bucket underneath it. The room was clean, except for the sheets that had little black dirt spots (not bed bugs). The shower had rust around the drain. The headboard had peeled/scratched paint. The mini fridge was broken. I understand that being dog friendly means that there will be wear and tear, and maybe the idea of "things will get damaged, so why invest in fixing them or getting something better", but even the shower towels were ragged and toddler sized. The cutting corners to make this "technically" a business is almost impressively terrible. And do not, under any circumstances, bring a CHILD here. The average clientele is seedy. The hotel is cheap, you can bring your furry friend, and the location is amazing. But at minimum, safety and cleanliness are required, not requested, if you're going to pay to stay.

Riverview is a excellent affordable hotel In San Diego. The staff is courteous, friendly and carried my luggage to my room! My room was very clean, freshly painted, and comfortable. Plus on the river side there is a great view! Im an International volunteer and stay in many hotels. Riverview offers a great clean room at an excellent price !

"Not to go this place with family" .Actually this place is for "hookers". we saw kind of people coming to this place a lot at nights. Unfortunately we didn't about this place we stayed there with family. Our Heater doesn't even start and we checked in late night and asked to switch the rooms but the staff were so rude to us and asked us to either adjust in the same room or leave the property but no refund. I even asked them to show the room before check in but they refused to do because they know that no one will check in if rooms are seen first. and After check IN if anything you have a problem they don't give refund either you need to stay there or leave the property without refund and find another place. This what happened to me.
