This is really more 3.5 stars but I’ll round up. The staff are accommodating and though they were booked out, they were able to switch us rooms when the first room assigned smelled like smoke. They were also able to accommodate a late check out. It’s an older hotel and the rooms aren’t renovated so it overall just kind of smells and there’s not much that can be done about that other than a full renovation. The second room was better and we were able to sleep comfortably. The linens were clean. The carpets are old and pretty stained so I’d recommend slippers. The pool area was nice and the pool was clean. Overall still 3.5.

I stayed at many hotels, and this is by far the WORST HOTEL I have ever stayed in. I’m shocked this is even represented by HILTON! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for anyone, rooms are dirty, dirty carpets, spiders, broken elevator and unsafe in the parking garage, we were stuck in there for so long. The parking garages are not built for cars their built for go karts, extremely tight and small rooms built like a prison. Smelly rooms built very tiny. The bathroom is small and there is no mirrors. The hotel is built on a narrow road a difficult to navigate through. There was a dead bee on the carpet with food spilled. There’s no thermostat as well. The walls aren’t sound proof I can hear people from other rooms speaking. Old hotel and by far the worst I have seen by “Hilton”. We left immediately after 1 night because it was so horrible . Beware of this place i WOULD GIVE IT A ZERO STAR IF I Could!!! They even charge extra fees FOR NO REASON

Our stay was not great. The bad omens started in the parking garage. The garage elevator was dirty, rickety, and the doors were so slow to close that I thought the thing was broken! We decided to take the stairs after that experience, and the stairwells were not much better. Also, the garage itself seemed to be in need of maintenance, with multiple areas of chunked off concrete from the ceilings and marks from cars hitting the tight corners. We booked a king room with a pool view and were given a king/kids suite with a non pool view. I called the front desk to get the room I had booked and was told they didn't have any king pool view rooms available that night, but could get us the room we booked the next day. The original room was dated and had a lot of wear and tear on the furniture. The carpet was very worn and stained in multiple spots throughout the room. There was even some debris on the floor too. The bed linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. The whole room was warped with the floor and ceiling sagging down in the middle. That didn't establish a lot of confidence in the building's structural rigidity, especially after the parking garage and elevator experience. The next room was no better, but did have the king beds and pool view we had originally booked. The carpets were still stained and torn up near the bathroom and entry door thresholds. The bed linens were again clean, and the bed was comfortable as well. In this room our TVs color was messed up, two thirds of the display had a very noticeable blue hue to it. We told the front desk 3 times about the television but nothing was done to remedy the issue during our stay. I definitely would avoid this hotel in the future. I expected better from a Hilton hotel, especially with rates being over $200 a night.

Quiet, relaxing atmosphere very close to any location in San Diego. Jojo was our bartender and server. She did not disappoint. Friendly inviting smile, lovely jokes. Well versed on the menu and made us feel as comfortable as a Guest could be. I will definitely be coming back here again and again. Would recommend anyone who needs a hotel to stay here, dine here and drink here with Jojo, at the sea glass restaurant!!!

The Double Tree Hilton at Hotel Circle in San Diego, California is a really awesome hotel. After driving all day and night roughly 650 miles from Gallup, New Mexico I was ecstatic to finally arrive a little after midnight. Kim Slater, the front end manager greeted me as I walked in and expeditiously checked me in. Though I was absolutely not in the mood and was completely lethargic from the treacherous drive, Kim's positive energy, professionalism and phenomenal customer service completely changed my demeanor for the good. Kim is an absolute jewel and peach of a gal. My room was clean and the bed was super comfortable; well deserved after the long drive I endured. I woke up very refreshed and was ready to deal with the antics of my estranged family in Chula Vista. That in itself was way more challenging than my 650 mile drive. As I stated previously, the Double Tree Hotel San Diego is an awesome hotel. They employ great people and my room was superb. The next time I have to see my family, I will definitely be staying there again. Thanks again Kim and the rest of your staff for making my stay enjoyable.

Rooms— not clean and very outdated. I got huge bug bite behind my neck first night. Service- horrible service. They fraudulently charging me 33$ a night for parking when I never entered the garage and took my own risk in ghetto mission valley parking on the street. The girl at front desk has audacity to tell me there is no street parking. I redirected her and told her to exit their hotel, go left about .2 miles and you’ll see plenty of people parked on the street. Super rude your accusing guest as to where they parking, it’s not even your business. However, fraudulently charging guest that aren’t even entering the garage is a fraud as a huge hotel company. I did not authorize you to charge me for parking and I was specifically asked if I’m going to park there at check in and check OUT and I said NO both times and you still go charge my account. You should know better. Super sneaky and inconvenient I have to call every single day to follow up. Rude staff all of them. Location is not good it’s super ghetto and not very safe area.

It's bad enough that this property is worn-out, shabby, and feels unclean. But the mismanagement and lack of respect for loyal, paying Hilton customers makes it even worse. The mattress in our pull-out sofa bed was so worn out that the protruding springs made the bed a torture chamber for our son. Over the course of our 48-hour stay, the lack of concern and follow-through for rectifying the problem was jaw-dropping. Friday May 2, 9 PM - We requested a replacement mattress and were told nothing could be done at that hour other than give us a comforter to put on top of it (which didn't help). Saturday May 3, 11:00 AM - I politely requested that they replace the mattress during the day while we were out. They said they'd have engineering work on it. Saturday May 3, 2:49 PM - I received a text from the front desk asking how my stay was going. I replied by thanked them for asking and asked if they had replaced the mattress but I got no reply. Saturday May 3, 7:00 PM - I called the hotel and asked to speak with the front desk, hoping they could give me an answer. I was put on hold for 12 minutes and gave up. Saturday May 3, 9:00 PM - We returned to our room to find that NOTHING had been done. I went to the front desk and the woman there apologized but said that engineering was still on duty and she would contact them. I asked her to PROMISE that she would call me within a half hour with a progress report. She PROMISED that she would. The rest of the night went by - no visit from engineering, no promised follow up call from the front desk. Sunday May 4, 9:00 AM - As we checked-out, I asked to speak with the manager on duty and was told she did not start work until noon, but the front desk clerk asked for my phone number and PROMISED that I would receive a call from the manager when she arrived at noon. You can guess the rest...I never heard a word. Hey, Hilton, what the hell? I used to think the brand carried some assurance of quality. Obviously, that has changed. But this is how you treat your customers? Really? My advice to potential customers: skip this dump and look for another brand.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL! I had to spend almost 2 hours with customer service to resolve a billing issue. When I made my reservation, the total amount was $250 for a 1 King Room. Upon checking in, the hotel told me that they did not have any more King rooms left due to a flooding issue on the top floor forcing them to move guests to other rooms. So, they gave me a Double Queen Room. I had no problems with that. Things happen outside of our control. HOWEVER, they failed to tell me that I would be given a different rate for the room. I didn’t notice this until I received my final bill ($320) after arriving home. I should be charged the original rate I was promised. It’s not my fault I’m forced into a different room because you ran out of them upon check-in and not informing me of the rate change is unacceptable. When I reached out directly to the hotel, they were dismissive and unhelpful. I had to contact the main Hilton customer service line, and they had to go back and forth with the hotel. It took an entire week to finally resolve the matter. It felt like hotel management did not want to admit their mistake. I’m so disappointed by this experience. I haven’t even said anything about the condition of the room, which was very outdated, with worn furniture, and noticeable stains on the curtains. Let’s just say I will not be staying at this hotel in the foreseeable future.
