Hampton Inn San Diego/Mission Valley

We enjoyed having the included breakfast on site daily. Hotel was conveniently located to many of the sights my daughter and I wanted to visit as well as to my partners work. The room was clean, and being on a high floor we had a pretty nice view. I do wish the bathroom had a fan. We also made good use of the small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Emily at the front desk was wonderful! Cheerful and helpful, she was a bright light after a long day of travel!

Avoid odd numbered rooms on the lower floors due to noise. I am a frequent traveler to San Diego and have stayed at this hotel 5 times i in the last 12 months. I will be avoiding in the future. Twice i was given a room hear the elevators on the third and the floors. (This trip was given room 309.). I was kept awake and then woken up by loud music. Ear plugs and my CPAP machine didn't mask the noise. I thought the music was coming from the room next door. It was not- it was coming from the lobby and the pool area. When i asked the clerk to turn it down or off, i was told that it was not possible. They maintained that there is no volume control or power switch. Nonsense! I then asked to speak to the manager, and was told that wasn't possible. This is s hotel - not a disco or a bar. There is no excuse for making rooms unpleasant and then providing put customer service. I recommend staying elsewhere.

We stay there for 2 nights with kids. Rooms are clean, employees are friendly and helpful. Here gives free hot breakfast and very nice and kids friendly. It also has one free EV charging station - 2 charging cables. One side of the EV charging station is a disable parking, but you can park on the other side of the parking to charge as long as you can plug. You have to ask the employee to active the charger every time you need you use it. Overall a very nice and great place to stay for a few days vacation in SD!

Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. It’s not in the best area of town but lots of other hotels around it so felt safe overall. The parking spots are super small. The breakfast was decent. Maybe just needs a little refresher and it would be pretty good.

We stayed here during Christmas holidays (Dec 24th & 25th). Pros : Location is very close to many San Diego attractions. Some of front desk team members in particular Martin was amazing. Couple of EV chargers available for free of cost. Cons : Breakfast buffet service was terrible. Single person handling all re-fills. So there were long queues. Our breakfast took more than 90min. Basic things like bread and coffee were not replenished on time. Hotel guests like us were waiting in the queue for almost 15min to get them refilled. I saw front desk staff were trying to help there. But no use. One of the staff members, Yolanda was terrible. Not sure how the hotel still employs her here. She was just disrespectful. Unless the hotel management team fixes these issues, I’ll not recommend this hotel.

Decent place to stay. Clean and well kept. My only issues were the AC has a presence sensor and I'd wake up hot half way through the night, even though I had set the temperature to my liking. I wish the bathroom door didn't have a spring automatically closing it, and the breakfast was not so great. I ate it once, and opted to grab something else the other days.

My room was clean and staff was attentive. Yolanda was friendly and quick to respond to a support request i needed. Beds and floors were clean and stain free. Only hit, shower water pressure was low to where it was challenging to wash soap from hair. Ending on a good note, the breakfast here was very good quality!

The rooms are a bit dated and in need of a good renovation and cleaning. Also, their breakfast is a disaster under staffed, not enough food to feed their guests, people letting their kids touch stuff and put it back. And people are standing around having to wait for them to refill the food. Not good and not sanitary at all.
