NillAnother amazing night stay at this historic hotel. We've stayed in every room and enjoyed every night. Great service from check-in to stay. The manager always makes us feel welcome which we love. This will continue to be one of our favorite night getaways.

NillWe were looking for an interesting alternative to standard hotels and pricey valet parking. This was great. The rooms were unique and very clean. They even let us check-in a few minutes early, especially helpful because parking was difficult to find nearby (hotel parking readily available). Highly recommend.

NillReally had an awesome time at The Cosmopolitan! We had visited Old Town in the past and always wanted to stay but where too afraid. We finally did (and even rented Room 11!) and couldn't have been happier. The hospitality was top notch. Dee gave us a little tour and history when we got to the hotel. He really made sure we had a wonderful stay. It is clear to me that this hotel values its guest. Excited to come back and highly recommend.

NillMy wife and I stayed here many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fast forward to April 12th, 2025 and we stayed here again for our anniversary. What a very disappointing experience. Problems began when checking in. I received a text earlier in the day letting me know to text when we arrived and someone would inform us on check in procedures. We got there, texted….. and waited. Stood around the courtyard, suitcases in hand, lots of staff running around, not one offer of assistance. The “manager” finally saw us and said we were supposed to call a different number when we arrived. As we are finally checking in, it’s obvious some sort of event is going to happen later in the courtyard (some fundraiser event). The “manager” tells us it will end by 9:00 pm and shows us to our room (#9). He also says “he will be there pretty late” and “if we need anything let him know”, even writing his number down. Wife and I go to dinner, get back around 8:30, and the party is in full swing. Loud music, lots of screaming and someone with a microphone raffling off various items. Since room #9 is on the end, it sounds like all of this is happening inside of our room. I wait until about 9:15 and text the “manager” asking what time the party was ending. I got no reply. About 9:45 I email the hotel basically asking the same question and again no reply( and as of this writing still no reply). It was well after 10:00 when the music stopped but the yelling and screaming continued for quite awhile. Next morning, because we had to be out of the room by 10:00, I start taking suitcases to the car where I happen to run into another “manager.” He apparently had read my email from last night, asked if I was in room #9, apologized profusely saying the party got “out of hand” and promised to speak to his supervisor to see what could be done about our experience. That’s the only contact there has been. A brief conversation with a hint something might be done. So far, nothing has been done and I don’t expect there ever will. That was our experience. Oh yeah, their website mentions wearing earplugs because of outside noise ( it says provided but couldn’t find any). I’ve slept in a tent in Afghanistan and got more sleep.

NillStayed one night in room 11. It was great. We were hoping for some paranormal experiences but it was a quiet night.. loved the the decor and history of the hotel.. the scones for breakfast were yummy and the courtyard bar was nice.. we will definitely stay here again.. next time in a room with access to the balconies .. checking in and out was easy and the staff was friendly

NillI love this place so much, but I'm a history nerd, so places like this always get me excited. There are very few places still around that used to be hotels or saloons back in the 1800s that you can still stay at, still used as they were intended, and the Cosmopolitan is one of them. Looking for authentic 'wild west' life? The Cosmopolitan is a place to try. You're in old Town San Diego to begin with and at night, sitting out on the balcony as the old town area is dark and shadowed is an other-worldly experience. Believe in ghosts or not, they're there. Maybe you just don't see them, but they're there - and it's amazing. The spirit of California is there and it's all around you. Not to get mystic or anything, but there is a flavor at the Cosmopolitan that you can't get anywhere else. Now, keep in mind this is not a 4 star hotel. You're back to basics with it, though you do have a bathroom and all. But it's so much fun to go back to those basics. This is an experience you won't find anywhere else, so savor it. Enjoy!!

NillVery quaint and cozy room felt like you literally stepped back in time. We stayed in room four and five which was combined ,it had a parlor attached which consisted of a fireplace and a sitting area. After setting up the rim pod and doing a call and response session in The Parlor, got loud bangs coming from the closet. And at one point in time when we were in the bedroom area i witnessed the closet door open on it's own.. would definitely go back M&M

NillMy sister and I only stayed one night; however, I would highly recommend staying at this lovely place. There's no TV in the rooms, which enhances the visit in my opinion. The staff are great. There's a Happy Hour and quaint scone breakfast. It's in a fantastic location of Old Town that allows great walkability to restaurants and shops.
