NillThe Sandman is relatively clean with one exception; they don't use duvet covers, opting instead for a flat sheet on top and a flat sheet underneath, so when the sheets inevitably move during the night the thin down comforter is exposed to every guests skin, drool, and whatever else might get on it from person to person. Large comforters, especially down, are hard to wash and given the large, fresh, brown stain I found on the one I was supposed to be sleeping under, I'm extremely certain the Sandman Inn isn't washing theirs on a regular basis, if at all. If they could impove anything, it would be to invest in duvet covers that can be easily taken off and washed between guests (and still continue to use a clean flat sheet underneath too). The place was also REALLY NOISY!! The walls are very thin and you can hear everything outside and in the rooms around you. The first morning I woke up there, I could hear guests coming and going starting at 4 am, and both mornings housekeeping was extremely loud outside my door. The second night I slept there I asked to be moved to a different room (which wasn't as nice as the room I paid for) because the people directly next to me were drinking by the pool, yelling out in front of their room, smoking cigarettes directly in front of my door, and in and out of their room every 5 minutes with the door slamming behind them. I had to be up to catch my flight at 3:30 so rather than spoil their fun, I just moved rooms. The front desk was really accommodating about the change. I don't recommend staying in a room by the pool, and maybe look for somewhere else if you're getting up early or looking for a quiet night. Edit: After reading many reviews that also complain about the noise and the cleanliness, it's clear this is a chronic issue here. A few reviewers have said this and they're absolutely right; this is a motel, not a hotel. It's fine as long as you manage your expectations. Like I said, it's relatively clean for a motel, I never felt unsafe, and the front desk was helpful.

★★★★★The Sandman was a surprising little oasis that had great bang for its buck. The reviews about the soundproofing are absolutely correct; the walls/windows are very thin and you can hear people talking from in the parking lot. That was really our only complaint though, and nothing that isn’t fixed with some earplugs. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower amenities were really high quality. The room was clean and warm, with a fridge and a microwave, making our stay very comfortable. The staff were really helpful; our safe was broken and it was replaced immediately, and the front desk brought towels to us at the pool when we realized there weren’t any down there. The pool and hot tub were SO great and very welcome after a rainy day. Unfortunately we weren’t able to make use of the bar or yoga because we were there during the middle of the week in the off season, but they both looked like great amenities. The price is so great for what we got. Highly recommend this place, just bring earplugs!

NillSuper friendly and helpful associate who checked us in. Asked for a lower level room after she had already assigned us a room, the associate was very nice and immediately found one and switched us. Room was clean. Real coffee cups and glasses for water. Not paper or plastic. Very nice! Easy access on and off Hwy 101.

NillI had a great stay from 5/13 to 5/16. Room was the perfect size for me. I slept great on the bed. Everything was very clean. Climate controls worked perfect. Had all the towels I needed for 3 days. TV was the right size for the room/distance from the bed. What impressed me the most was the pool/hot tub and the pool house. Very cool, great vibe. That's where free breakfast is served. Simple but a good breakfast. I had it two of the three days I was there. Coffee was great. Rooms were quiet and despite being busier than I initially thought they were, noise was minimal, no complaints at all. I would definitely return and stay again. I also never heard any traffic noise from the highway. Staff was very friendly at check-in. Thanks for a great positive stay! I thought I was booking my reservation through the hotel's website but my credit card statement and their reservation showed I did not. If that matters to you, make sure you pay close attention when booking.

NillIf your standards are low to where you don’t care about service, aesthetics, hygiene or quality of service. Look no further. They double charged my credit card and promised they would reach out the next day when a manager is in to refund it and a shirt I wouldn’t have to do any chasing. Nobody ever answers the phone. I’ve left messages. And all I’m doing is nothing but chasing and nothing has been refunded. Staff is incredibly under trained in this situation. I’ve had to deal with that properly. I see a bunch of reviews of people upset, not being able to reach out to the actual hotel, front desk or operator and that’s absolutely true. They say they will work on it in several reviews of the past. But can clearly tell they have done nothing to fix that to make a positive stride forward. Stayed here one time before for a quick overnight to see the Schultz Museum. Seemed okay, just a little outdated. This time around, we had family with us for multiple rooms since we celebrated and are now members of the Schultz museum. Never staying here again. There was a used wash rag next to the toilet. For some reason, the Console under the TV was pulled out pretty far and we had to push it back and plug in the refrigerator that didn’t end up working anyway. The in room telephone had some nasty oily substance all over it and didn’t even work to call front desk that won’t answer anyway. Front desk staff will make their clerical problems your problem. Still waiting for the promised phone call to refund my double charged card. *Update: Called sales office directly. Spoke to clerk who stated he is bringing note and phone to the manager Mark to handle my request that they know about. Call was ended and did not get a call back and now they are not answering my call. You are stealing!

NillThank you Sandman Hotel!! For taking our money without our authorization!! 1/1/25 We had booked 1 night here and decided in the morning we wanted to stay another night, we asked how much for 1 more night and they had already refunded our security deposit, asked for another deposit and we didnt have enough for it, left the lobby saying we will be back. We decide to just check out and the lady who worked this morning had already charged us for the room WITHOUT US GIVING THE OK. Management was not there, which is idiotic, there should always be 1 manager or even give the employees to authorize the refund, Managers are usually useless and today proved that. We came here because our closest family member passed away, and this place took our last couple hundereds.

NillThe rooms are very clean and there's a nice swimming pool. But the guy working at the front desk when my friend and I were checking in was a complete dead beat. He didn't make eye contact or smile even once! Plus the mattresses were hard. If they got softer ones, that would be a big improvement and the staff at the front desk should be encouraged to make conversation with guests. Even a smile can make a difference in their lives.
