Holiday Inn New London - Mystic Area by IHG

We stayed with my family and by mistake I forgot my bathroom bag and by the time I called them Ana V. At the front desk took a few minutes to make sure the bag could be delivered to my house back in two days. Excellent service and honest staff. Sometimes that's more than I big buffet or a great location. Thank you Holiday Inn.

We were there for a cheer competition, we got there early so we could swim in the pool. The pool was nice, when we went to our room the restaurant was loud with a live band. It wasn’t an issue after 10 pm. The food there was ok but my girls and I wish it was a pub style as it is only Italian food so not much to choose from and it was pricey. The hostess in the restaurant there was less than friendly in the pm and am. The hotel desk staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Our tv stopped working, I went down to the desk because she was the only one working unfortunately and she came up to try and help us. Once she saw our tv was acting up, she quickly switched our room to next door so we wouldn’t have to lug anything up or down the elevator. She was an absolute sweetheart! Checking in and out was super easy as well!

We stayed here as a team before a weekend-long cheer competition. The staff was friendly; the area was great and central to everything we needed. The room itself was nice, but the walls were very thin, so noise was an issue for athletes needing sleep and the mom who needed to drive them, but we got what we needed and enjoyed most of our stay. And of course the kids loved the pool!

This was a really nice holiday inn. Rooms are a good size, there's a restaurant on the main floor, the cleaning staff was in point, and the staff is friendly. The parking does kinda suck if there's some sort of dinner rush hour and I blame the locals for not knowing how to park between the lines. My one gripe is that I didn't have hot water in my shower the entire time. Yes I put in a maintenance request but the water didn't get any hotter. Maybe eventually it'll get fixed.

Our stay was pleasant, and we loved how it's near the downtown area. My only disappointment is that when we booked the reservation, there was no indication that the gym was under construction. Had we known, we would have chosen somewhere else to stay. The gym is a big part of our daily routine, so not having it was very disappointing.

This location was clean and nice. We had problems with our original room but front desk was very nice and moved us to a different room which us very comfortable and clean. My only complain here is after I left, the front desk told me that my card would hold $100 in case anything happens or we buy want anything to eat they will take it from there. We did no used anything but yet my card was charge the $100. I called spoke to Richard and he was very rude from the beginning didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. His name was Richard I explained to him that I was charge and he said let me explain as he started to talk and explain that my card was going to be charge $100 I said oh okay so you’re are saying it will be charge but then refunded if we don’t used anything? He stopped me and said to me are you going to let me talk ? So I can explain. I said well I just want to understand that part before you continue to speak you don’t have to be so rude. I asked him I want to speak to a manager and Richard hung up on me. I called again and a female picked up who then transferred me to corporate Ashley from the managing team at corporate said she didn’t know who Richard was or had the list of who was working there. She said she didn’t know anything about that location she was going to give me the number of a manager on that district, she gave me the number when I call it was the wrong number. What a bad experience and so unprofessional workers. Richard should not be at the front desk if he does not have any manners.

We were not impressed with this hotel at all. It is not in a nice neighborhood and there are signs all over the parking lot about the hotel not being responsible for stolen items. The room was run down and dirty. The bathtub was full of grit and dirt. There were loud neighbors, people playing musical instruments and babies screaming. We could not cool the room below 65 we could only shut the heat off which left us sleeping in an uncomfortably warm room. Overall would not recommended. There was also no breakfast included.

Upon getting up in the morning my daughter looked at the heating/cooling unit and observed what appeared to be rodent droppings in the vents. This unit had obviously not been cleaned or inspected for a very long time. This experience caused her great stress. Would not recommend this property. It is not up to Holiday Inn standards. Also at check in the desk clerk made it very clear that there was no complimentary breakfast at this location. All in all a very disappointing stay.
