Hyatt Place Chicago/Midway Airport

We found bed bugs in our room (Room 306). Please be cautious if you’re planning to stay here at this time. The hotel did not respond to our complaint and no compensation was offered. As for the positives of the hotel: We truly enjoyed our stay. The atmosphere was elegant and everything was clean and well-maintained. The location is great—close to the airport and in a safe area. The room and bathroom were spotless, with comfortable furniture and perfectly balanced air conditioning. The breakfast was delicious, the swimming pool was fun for the kids, and the gym was organized and fully equipped.

This is the best hotel I've EVER stayed in for a sports tournament. Clean, quiet, close to everything, & a lot of amenities. 5 minutes to Wintrust Sports Complex. Rooms & hotel are super clean. Plenty of parking. Several restaurants nearby. Free shuttle was awesome. Elevators were quick! Never more than a few seconds wait. Breakfast was pretty good. Lots of options. Dining area was huge! I would stay here again.

It is close to the Midway airport and the free shuttle was great. The hotel was convenient & very nice. I loved the room. It was updated, clean & very spacious. I also love that you need a room key to access the elevators. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely book again if I return to Chicago.

Great stay, especially if traveling with children. Hotel was very spacious and definitely exceeded my expectations. The price of Hotel was affordable. We had never been to Chicago and felt safe in this Hotel especially I had my children along with me for this trip.

We stayed here for a spring break trip. My kids were excited to have a pool at our hotel. Night 1 was a very loud birthday party with about 12 kids and 3 adults. The second night the pool was closed. We had to contact the front desk for an explanation. The third night was yet another birthday party with around 15 kids and 4 adults. This hotel seems to operate more as a place for people to get a free birthday party than an actual hotel. The pool is used more for people sneaking in kids for said birthday parties than for the actual paying guests of the hotel. If you’d like to utilize the amenities they advertise, I’d suggest going to a different hotel chain. Will not stay again.

Great until I had to call 911… We were in town due to a volleyball tournament. My daughter and I were exhausted from being there all day and just wanted to shower and go to bed. I arrived around 9pm. Once checked in & waiting for the elevator around 15 kids and several adults with bottles of alcohol were getting off to go to the pool. When I got off on my floor there were several more kids and adults with alcohol getting on for the pool. Apparently this hotels allows birthday parties because outside of our room you could hear kids running & being loud constantly. I was able to toon them out and around 1am I was awoken to several women from the above party arguing, fist fighting & pulling hair. I called the front desk who answered & said they would send security. The fight continued. My child was scared as we heard things also being broken. After looking out and the hotel staff not having any control I had to call the police myself. I had no clue what happened after the police came but it was quiet again for about 35 minutes until I heard women again from this same party screaming & yelling. I called the front desk over & over and they would not answer. I had to walk down to complain about why these people are not being put out & how I had to be up at 6am with my child. The next morning there was broken trash can and trash in the hallway clearly from the fight! The hotel & room itself was great. They should really rethink allowing parties & train staff appropriately on how to resolve unruly situations.

The beds are fair but hard. The location is close to midway but in a safe hotel complex area. The rooms are nice. The breakfast is decent and has a variety of offerings. Our biggest problem was that despite asking for more than 2 bath towels in a 2 queen bed room with pullout couch for 4 people, by 10 pm, we were told there were no towels and there was nothing they could do until housekeeping arrived at 9 am the following morning. That was after we needed to leave the hotel and check out. Why doesn’t the hotel have enough towels for guests and why is that acceptable?

Although they were renovating the hotel, the stay was still amazing. The only downside was no microwaves available in the rooms. They did have 1 available in the bar area for customer use. ||||The staff were very friendly and helpful. ||We enjoyed our stay!
