Pros: I loved that there was a tea kettle and multiple tea options in the room, as I love tea and most hotels just provide coffee. The bed was comfortable, room was spacious, and the bathroom was huge! I loved the separate tub and showers. The fitness center is very nice and great condition. The location is right by Millennium park, which was nice. Cons: The carpets were dirty and I could see visible hair on the floor. Hair that was not my color so I know it was a previous guests' hair, which felt very unsanitary. Also, we did not receive a warm welcome from the front desk at all and it started our trip on a sour note. The restaurant struggled a lot with the $15 daily credit from the hotel. Multiple servers were confused on how to apply the credit and did not know what we were talking about. The urban experience fee overall felt mostly like a scam as it costs $25 per day and we really didn't get much benefit out of it. I wish this fee was optional as it truly was a waste of money. Microwaves and mini fridges for the room have to be requested, and the hotel had run out, so there was literally no way to store my food or heat it up. At a minimum, the hotel should at least have a microwave in the lobby for guests to use. This was a huge disappointment. Remove the useless overpriced mini bar filled with alcohol and replace it with a fridge and microwave in the room that guests can actually use.

As a first time visitor to both Chicago and Fairmont in the US, I must say that Fairmont Chicago and the staff were well worth the visit! ||Staff:|Especially Gail via correspondence and welcome letter, Mevut (sorry if I misspelled his name) and their colleague in the Gold Lounge on Saturday February 8th (whose name I unfortunately forgot), were lovely and made the stay and everything in advance a consistently strong experience! ||Room:|The room was pleasantly temperate. The beds were good and the room well looked after. It had everything and more of amenities and functionality.|Room type was 2X Twin Bed with Lounge Access. |More than big enough for 2 adults.||Breakfast / Lounge:|The breakfast in the Lounge was very good, and although the Lounge was small it was quiet, comfortable and had what you needed! ||Location:|The hotel's location is very good when the goal is to see as much of Downtown as possible in a short time. Located close to the Park, the Bean? and the Magnificent Mile but at the south end makes for a great starting point to explore and move around||Restaurant:|The restaurant (Toro)'s food was excellent (Thank you so much for the recommendation Gail) and is worth a visit if you are not nervous about your wallet! ||ALL Status recogniton: |I experienced that the hotel looked after me and acknowledge my status as Platinum. I got a nice welcome gift upon arrival and a personal letter from Gail which was very kind and thoughtful! Thank you very much 😊||Other feedback: |The only "improvement point" is that I wish there was more bottled/carton water, and a menu that indicated prices for the minibar and snack-bar in the room (Maybe I'm a bit absent-minded about that, but the prices and terms there were a bit unclear to me). ||In summary: Unfortunately I only had a short stay, but I can safely say that I would happily stay here again.

This is a great place to stay in downtown. The room was clean and spacious, with a firm but comfortable bed and a lovely view from the large window. Service was excellent throughout our stay. The area offers plenty of restaurants and small markets for convenience. The conference space was well-equipped, supported by an outstanding audio-visual team. The food was delicious and served promptly by a friendly staff. Overall, a very good experience!

I booked our stay at the Fairmont Millennium Park Chicago through AMEX Platinum for a recent girls' trip with my bestie. I received a welcome letter when I checked in letting me know we have a $100 food and beverage credit to use during our stay. The letter specifically stated may only be applied towards food and beverage and not room rate, taxes or spa. The person who helped check us in was not too friendly. I didn't get a name but they were super soft spoken and monotonous making it difficult to hear what they were saying. I asked about late checkout and was told to call the front desk the day before checkout to see if any availability. The rooms and the hotel itself are a bit dated except for the lobby which was very nice. The decorations were festive and wintry. The best service was from the door staff who always had a smile on their faces and greeted us each time we left or came back. They were also really helpful hailing taxis for us as getting a Lyft or Uber in the area was a bit challenging. The day before checkout, I stopped by to ask for a late checkout and was told I need to call the morning of checkout. The person who helped me sounded quite irritated when I told them the person at check-in told me to check the day before. She reluctantly gave us a 1:00 p.m. checkout. The worst service was another person at the front desk who attempted to answer my question before I even finished asking it. I stopped by on checkout day to ask where the $100 food and beverage on my folio was applied. They told me the credit doesn't show but neither does the debit. I proceeded to tell them I see a food charge for breakfast the day before but don't see a credit. They then asked for my room number only to tell me the credit was applied to the second night's rate (which the letter specifically stated may not be used for). Had I known we could've used it for the hotel rate, we would not have dined at Toro. The breakfast was average but we visited Chicago for the food and would've eaten at one of the places we had on our list to try. Overall, an okay experience. To sum up, Front desk staff - horrible, need more training and better customer service skills Door staff - loved them! The front desk should learn how to treat guests from them. Perks - misleading, the letter should not say the hotel credit may only be applied to food and beverage Would I stay there again? Although my loyalty is generally with Marriott, I am willing to give Fairmont another try if there is improvement in the guest experience at the front desk.

This was a great experience staying in a lovely and large one bedroom suite on the gold level. I was in town for a conference so it is fantastic having a great breakfast ready and being convenient. The team on the gold level are very welcoming and helpful, especially the 2 ladies in the morning. The Fairmont is in a good location to get to the lakefront to walk or to Michigan Avenue for shopping and dinner. It is not my first time, nor will it be my last.

*Room 1423 for Valentine’s Day weekend- The Mays* 5 STARS DESERVED!!! My husband and I planned a long overdue getaway for the weekend and chose to stay here. We stayed for 3 nights and it was amazing!!! Highly recommend getting using the Gold upgrade, delicious complimentary breakfast, snacks&drinks. The doorman&Customer service was phenomenal from checking in, the bar, room service, hospitality, to Checking out! Gail even helped us reserve a last minute reservation to an outside restaurant on vday when everyone else was fully booked!! Staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay meets all of your expectations!

Apart from the fact that they only put one mug and no milk on our double room, this hotel was excellent. The bed was comfortable and we had a lovely view of the city, especially at night. The hotel was still decorated for Christmas in the style of a ski lodge; it was simple and elegant. We had a burger in the bar, that was really good and the staff were lovely. You could do with having better coffee in your rooms Fairmont, that’s all I would say. I think you could do better there

We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were able to very easily walk or get Lyfts to places we wanted to go, such as SlooMoo. A quick walk to great shopping and to The Bean. The hotel itself is very nice, super clean, and the staff we're so incredibly helpful and nice. The rooms we had were really nice - comfortable beds, modern, great showers. I can't think of a single bad thing. We'll definitely stay here the next time we visit Chicago!
