Just stayed here, the hotel is nice and the rooms are great. Got the hotel thought booking.com and seemed to be the best well priced in the city. The staff, on the other hand, was not the best. The evening hotel clerk/manager, the one with the grey beard who probably has about 40 complaints about him, was pretty rude. Asked to see if the hotel had some paper plate and plastic cutlery. He was able to help me out, but not without scolding me on how I should have asked at the restaurant. I don't know if he does this with every guest or if it was just me. I had a second question about my bill. I had asked him about the extra charge I was billed for the hotel room. Yet again, he insisted on scolding me on how I should read the fine print of the contract. I just wanted to ask a question, and this guy made it seem like an inconvenience to just ask him about my charges. The next day, I ran into him in the hallway going to my room. He was knocking on another guests door. Politely asked him to please move over so me and my wife could get through, he stopped looked at me and continued with the other guest, had to squeeze my way behind him, he wouldn't even move over for my wife. Overall, the hotel is good, but maybe the hotel clerk is tired of being there and taking it out on his guest.

The Warwick Allerton Chicago is a historic hotel on the Magnificent Mile, offering a prime location and classic charm. Rooms are comfortable but can be small, and the building feels a bit dated. No pool, and amenities are limited. Service reviews are mixed, but it’s a solid choice for tourists and business travelers looking for a well-priced, centrally located stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE! My partner and I had booked your Chicago location for New Year's Eve, and the following night (12/31/24-1/2/25). We arrived to check in around 8 pm. After making our way to the front desk, we were greeted by a sales associate who checked us in, and assigned us to room 522; which he said "it's a good one". When we got up to the room, we were initially disappointed by it's dark, small nature, and dingy, worn appearance. It was what it was, so I began to unpack. As soon as I went into the bathroom, I discovered a large cockroach on its back in the shower. It's legs still moving, I immediately called down to the front desk. We gathered our things and went back to the lobby. This time greeted by Brandon, the manager; He apologized, offered to take off the room tax, and reassigned us a room. As if that was enough? This time, we were assigned to 513. It was already nearly 930pm by the time when we got up to the second room. Reluctantly we entered, and first noticed that this room was even darker and more worn than the first. Although larger, the view out the window was Heating and AC ducts. As I looked down, a very large cockroach scurried out of corner. I was absolutely horrified! We clearly could no longer stay here. I once again called down to the front desk and informed them of the situation. We told them we were coming down, but in moments Brandon was up in the room, scooping up the pest. We all headed back to the front desk together. It was not even an option to stay at this establishment any longer, based on the blatant pest issues. This was our new years. We scrambled to try and book another hotel, which cost us three times what it would have, had we booked in advance. The manager bought us a drink at the bar while we tried to sort out plans, but the night was already ruined. We are STILL awaiting our refund, (ten days later) this is so unacceptable, it needs to be addressed further. We will never be a patron of the Warwick Chicago again. We were visiting from California, and ended up spending our new years in the street, trying to find our way to another hotel, instead of at the celebration we had planned. It was a disappointing and disastrous experience.

Our stay here was wonderful. I had done lots of research as I wanted to stay at a 4-star hotel that had a good gym and was within walking distance of most of the attractions we were planning to visit. After narrowing it down to three, what it really helped make our decision was the price. ||The hotel itself is older, but it’s been restored for the most part. Rooms are slightly dated but it worked. I don’t need a modern style hotel and will sacrifice that over more space, which we go with our room. I’d say our room was about 350-400 SF, giving me and the hubby plenty of space while he worked morning and I got ready for the day. ||The gym is pretty big with an open floor plan consisting of lots of cardio machines, lots of weight machines and a separate room for abs and free weights. ||The bar is not very lively, but there is one. We’d have a night cap there before heading upstairs. ||The elevators are fast and there’s plenty of them. The front desk staff was fast and friendly. Check-in took all but 5-/+ minutes. ||I’d say we were about a 5-10 minute walk to most restaurants and site seeing visits. ||We did not drive so we didn’t have to park a car, however I think the nightly rate is high from what I remember, as we contemplated renting a car. But I think all hotels in big cities have high nightly fees. ||Overall a great establishment and I would definitely stay there again.

★★★

A claimed 4 Star hotel which offers only a limited evening bar service. No breakfast (although there are many breakfast joints around) no restaurant at all and very limited other services - eg only one luggage trolley for the whole place. Reasonably clean spacious rooms but FOUR STARS I think not. We attended a family wedding in the hotel which was excellent so they CAN do it but not for ordinary clients

This 100-year-old hotel on Michigan Avenue is spectacular. My room had to have been recently redecorated -- it felt like new. It was as large or larger than many "trendy" hotels' junior suites, with a sofa and coffee table set off at one end of the room and a desk in an alcove. Everyone I met, from the chambermaid to the people behind the front desk to the doormen and conceirge were friendly and helpful. I'd go back in a minute!

Really nice hotel in a really good location. Staff are friendly and the WiFi is strong. Be aware they do hold a charge on your card. Mine of which was 200 dollars and you don’t get it back on checking out, you got to wait a few days. Bed was really comfortable. Rooms are dated and need a refresh. All in all it’s a decent hotel in a decent location north of the river.

Worst hotel in Chicago… and hotel collect is terribly. The room looks like my grandmas guest room. Elevations took over 10 min to come. No security. Remote control is missing. Went to the bar for wine, bar tender told me that the wine was opened today. It was so rancid that it was clearly opened last week. Fries pee droplets on our toilet seat and clearly someone peed in the sink! See below. Stay far far away! Toilets are gas station toilets. Had to wipe down our own bathroom!
